Objective: HPV infection is considered the most common sexually transmitted virus today. The persistence of HPV is the main cause for the development of precursor lesions and cervical cancer. There are environmental and non-environmental factors that contribute to the persistence of the virus.

There are still few studies that have investigated the impact of sertraline (SE) on fertility, as well as adjuvant treatments that alleviate its side effects. Thus, the present study aimed to investigate the impact of SE on reproductive and neurobehavior parameters and verify whether the probiotic Lactobacillus rhamnosus alleviates the side effects of SE. After carrying out a dose-response study with SE, experiment II was conducted.

Photobiomodulation Enhances the Effect of Strength Training on Insulin Resistance Regardless of Exercise Volume in Mice Fed a High-Fat Diet.

The aim was to investigate the effects of different volumes of strength training (ST) in association with photobiomodulation (PBMt) in mice fed a high-fat diet (HFD) on insulin resistance (IR). Male Swiss albino mice were fed HFD and performed high- or low-volume (one-third) ST (3 days/week), associated with PBMt (660 nm + 850 nm; ~42 J delivered) or not (lights off). ST improved IR, lowered visceral adiposity and circulating cytokines, and increased skeletal muscle hypertrophy and mitochondrial activity.

Study of 138 vulvar lichen sclerosus patients and the malignant risk transformation.

Objective: To report the prevalence of malignant transformation of vulvar lichen sclerosus (VLS) and possible risk factors.

Methods: This is a cohort study with data analysis from medical records of 138 patients with histological diagnosis of VLS registered at the Vulvar Pathology Outpatient Clinic of the University Hospital, between 2007 and 2017. Predominance of risk factors was performed using logistic regression analysis.

CDH23-Associated Usher Syndrome: Clinical Features, Retinal Imaging, and Natural History.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the clinical spectrum and natural history of CDH23-associated Usher syndrome type ID (USH1D).

The cancerous membrane (CM1 and CM2) models contained either 40 % 1,2- dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DPPC) or 1,2-dioleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DOPC), 30 % cholesterol (Chol), 20 % 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphoethanolamine (DPPE), and 10 % 1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phospho-l-serine (DPPS).

In-Depth Retinal Sensitivity Assessment With the MP3 Type S Microperimeter: A Methods Study.

Purpose: Retinal sensitivity is frequently listed as an end point in clinical trials, often with long working practices. The purpose of this methods study was to provide a new workflow and reduced test time for in-depth characterization of retinal sensitivity.

Methods: A workflow for the MP3-S microperimeter with detailed functional characterization of the retina under photopic, mesopic, and scotopic conditions was evaluated.

Difficulties in emotion regulation and well-being in breast cancer.

Objective: Breast cancer is responsible for disruptive changes in women's lives, causing them to experience diverse and intense negative emotions that can affect their perception of well-being. The present study aimed to characterize difficulties in emotion regulation (ER), according to Gratz and Roemer's multidimensional assessment, in women with breast cancer and to relate them with General Well-Being and its different domains: Physical, Social/Familial, Emotional, and Functional.

Method: Ninety-five Portuguese women with breast cancer aged between 32 and 75 years answered a sociodemographic and clinical questionnaire and the Portuguese versions of the Difficulties in Emotion Regulation Scale and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy - General.

"Fibromyalgia - are there any new approaches?".

Introduction: Approaching patients with fibromyalgia (FM) is challenging due to the limited availability of scientifically proven effective therapies.

Objective: Review the treatments in use for FM and present new knowledge that could benefit these patients. Non-pharmacological interventions are recommended as the first line of treatment: aerobic exercise, cognitive behavioral therapy and patient education, all aimed at improving pain and other symptoms.

Professional competences to promote healthy ageing across the lifespan: a scoping review.

As societies age, the development of resources and strategies that foster healthy ageing from the beginning of life become increasingly important. Social and healthcare professionals are key agents in this process; therefore, their training needs to be in agreement with societal needs. We performed a scoping review on professional competences for social and health workers to adequately promote healthy ageing throughout life, using the framework described by Arksey and O'Malley and the Joanna Briggs Institute Guidelines.

Oral manifestations of syphilis: Knowledge and skills of senior dental students and newly graduated dentists.

Objectives: To evaluate the knowledge of senior dental students and newly graduated dentists about the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of oral manifestations of syphilis.

Materials And Methods: A 32-question questionnaire was designed with three domains: (I) demographic, academic and professional data of the participants, (II) attitudes, practices and self-perception regarding training about syphilis and (III) knowledge about syphilis. All knowledge responses were classified as correct or incorrect.

Bailey-Bloch Congenital Myopathy in Brazilian Patients: A Very Rare Myopathy with Malignant Hyperthermia Susceptibility.

Background: Congenital myopathy-13 (CMYP13), also known as Bailey-Bloch congenital myopathy and Native American myopathy (NAM), is a condition caused by biallelic missense pathogenic variants in , which encodes an important protein necessary for the excitation-relaxation coupling machinery in the muscle. Patients with biallelic pathogenic variants in often present with congenital weakness and arthrogryposis, cleft palate, ptosis, myopathic facies, short stature, kyphoscoliosis, and susceptibility to malignant hyperthermia provoked by anesthesia. We present two unrelated cases of Bailey-Bloch congenital myopathy descendants of non-consanguineous parents, which were investigated for delayed psychomotor development and generalized weakness.

Objectives: To translate and cross-culturally adapt the 12-item reflux symptom score (RSS-12) to European Portuguese (EP) and determine its clinimetric properties for symptomatic individuals with laryngopharyngeal reflux (LPR).

Methods: The English RSS-12 was cross-culturally adapted according to the recommendations of the international guidelines.

Background: Melanoma is the most lethal skin cancer, and its incidence has increased worldwide. About 10% of cases are classified as hereditary melanoma (HM). CDKN2A and CDK4 are the major high-risk genes.

Tannic Acid Tailored-Made Microsystems for Wound Infection.

Difficult-to-treat infections make complex wounds a problem of great clinical and socio-economic impact. Moreover, model therapies of wound care are increasing antibiotic resistance and becoming a critical problem, beyond healing. Therefore, phytochemicals are promising alternatives, with both antimicrobial and antioxidant activities to heal, strike infection, and the inherent microbial resistance.

Association of Swede Score and 2011 IFCPC Nomenclature in Women with Abnormal Cytology.

Objective:  To assess the association between two colposcopic indices, the Swede score and the 2011 International Federation of Cervical Pathology and Colposcopy (IFCPC) Nomenclature as well as to determine the efficacy of the Swede score with cutoffs of 7 and 8.

Methods:  In the present cross-sectional pilot study, 34 women who had at least 1 colposcopy-directed biopsy due to abnormal cytology were enrolled. The colposcopic findings were scored by both the Swede score and the 2011 IFCPC Nomenclature and were compared with each other.

Here we show that selected nutritional feed additives reduce the adverse effects of transport stress on the immune system and hematology of tambaqui. We formulated a control diet to contain normal dietary levels of vitamin E (21.6 mg/ kg diet) and C (143 mg/kg), then we added supra levels of these vitamins (vit E - 264 mg/kg and vit C - 1000 mg/kg) to a second diet.

Initial report of Panstrongylus rufotuberculatus (Champion, 1899) Triatominae (Hemiptera: Reduviidae) in Roraima, western Amazon state, Brazil.

Background: This study is the first report of the species Panstrongylus rufotuberculatus in Roraima, a state in northern Brazil.

Methods: We collected specimens from a residence in the municipality of Rorainópolis.

Results: Our findings confirmed the occurrence of this species in Roraima, increasing the number of registered species from six to seven.
