[Epithelioid uterine leiomyoma with giant cystic degeneration. A case report].

At present, show woman 46-years-old, presented hiperpolimenorrea, pelvis ultrasound appearance with cystic giant mass in the uterine corpus; histopathological revealed a epithelioid leiomyoma with giant cystic degeneration. We considered it is the first reported case of this variant of the epithelioid leiomyoma.

Pancreatic response of rats fed genetically modified soybean.

Mice fed genetically modified (GM) soybean were not affected in nutritional performance, but pancreatic microscopic features were disturbed. The mechanisms for these contradictory findings are unknown. This study analysed the histology of acinar pancreatic cells and the expression of pancreatitis-associated protein (PAP) and trypsinogen mRNA in rats fed GM soy protein.

Caerulin-induced pancreatitis in rats: histological and genetic expression changes from acute phase to recuperation.

Aim: To study the histological and pancreatitis-associated protein mRNA accumulation changes of pancreas from acute phase of caerulin-induced pancreatitis to recuperation in rats.

Methods: Acute pancreatitis was induced by caerulein in male Wistar rats and followed up for 90 d by histological and mRNA analyses of pancreas. Pancreases were dissected at 0, 9, 24 h and 3, 5, 15, 30, 60, 90 d post-induction.

[Persistent hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia. Two case reports].

We report two cases of infants who presented seizures and persistent hypoglycemia. In both infants, we established diagnosis of persistent hypoglycemia by hyperinsulinism (PHH); glycemic/insulinic ratio was > 0.3, and we found no pancreatic changes by means of other diagnostic procedures.
