Objective: To describe the perceived wellbeing (pWB) and the psychological characteristics of young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions (LLTCs).

Methods: We conducted a cross-sectional study in young people aged 8 years or older with collection of data on demographic and disease-related variables from the health records. In the psychological evaluation, we collected data on emotion regulation, cognitive strategies and risk of depression and anxiety, in addition to the assessment of the pWB through a visual analogue scale.

Electric vehicles (EVs) differ significantly from their internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts, with reduced mechanical parts, Lithium-ion batteries and differences in pedal and transmission control. These differences in vehicle operation, coupled with the proliferation of EVs on our roads, warrant an in-depth investigation into the divergent risk profiles and driving behaviour of EVs, Hybrids (HYB) and ICEs. In this unique study, we analyze a novel telematics dataset of 14,642 vehicles in the Netherlands accompanied by accident claims data.

Background: Patients with Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) who develop cardiogenic shock may present with left ventricular outflow tract obstruction (LVOTO). The prognosis and treatment of this population have not been defined in previous studies. The aim of this study is to describe the clinical presentation, management, evolution and prognosis of a subgroup of patients with TTS and cardiogenic shock according to whether they present with LVOTO or not.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative condition of the articular cartilage with chronic low-grade inflammation. Monocytes have a fundamental role in the progression of OA, given their implication in inflammatory responses and their capacity to differentiate into bone-resorbing osteoclasts (OCLs). This observational-experimental study attempted to better understand the molecular pathogenesis of OA through the examination of osteoclast progenitor (OCP) cells from both OA patients and healthy individuals (25 OA patients and healthy samples).

Acid-Catalyzed Oxy-aminomethylation of Styrenes.

We report a strong Brønsted acid-catalyzed three-component oxy-aminomethylation of styrenes with -trioxane and sulfonamides or carbamates. This transformation provides a variety of 1,3-oxazinanes in moderate to good yields under mild reaction conditions. The obtained heterocycles can be readily transformed into the corresponding 1,3-amino alcohols, which are useful building blocks for the synthesis of pharmaceutically relevant molecules.

Evaluating quality of life in pediatric palliative care: a cross-sectional analysis of children's and parents' perspectives.
