Formulation analysis of functional fragrance via polar-gradient extraction method and chemometrics pattern recognition.

In this study, characteristic components of 15 natural flavors was analyzed by the polar-gradient extraction (PGE) technique in combination with GC-MS and chemometrics pattern recognition. The obtained results were utilized for the traceability of 4 functional fragrance formulations. The optimal PGE system consisting of 5 different polar solvents, was developed based on similarity-intermiscibility theory.

Resolution of (R,S)-ibuprofen catalyzed by immobilized Novozym40086 in organic phase.

The enantioselective esterification of ibuprofen catalyzed by Novozym40086 was successfully conducted in organic solvent. Removing-water reagent was added into the reaction mixture to remove water produced in the esterification. The effects of temperature, n-hexanol concentration, ibuprofen concentration, and loading of enzymes were investigated.

Chinese Marine Materia Medica Resources: Status and Potential.

Chinese marine materia medica (CMMM) is a vital part of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM). Compared with terrestrial TCM, CMMM, derived from specific marine habitats, possesses peculiar chemical components with unique structures reflecting as potent pharmacological activities, distinct drug properties and functions. Nowadays, CMMM appears to be especially effective in treating such difficult diseases as cancers, diabetes, cardio-cerebrovascular diseases, immunodeficiency diseases and senile dementia, and therefore has become an important medicinal resource for the research and development of new drugs.
