Populational aging increases the incidence of musculoskeletal degenerative processes, such as adult scoliosis (AS). Adult scoliosis is defined as a spinal deformity in the coronal plane with a Cobb angle > 10°. Adult scoliosis may be iatrogenic or result from a degenerative process (scoliosis ) or a pre-existing scoliosis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: To compare postoperative radiographic outcomes of Schatzker type V and VI tibial plateau fractures treated with double-plate or single lateral locked plate.
Methods: Sixty-three patients operated from December 2011 to February 2016 were selected, 47 from the double-plate group and 16 from the single lateral locked plate group. Minimum follow-up for all patients was 6 months.
Objectives: To analyze, through DATASUS data, the historical trend of revision of total knee arthroplasty (TKA) in the period between 2008-2016 and to relate them to demographic, regional and national aspects.
Methods: Elaboration of a historical series between the period 2008-2016, using the database of DATASUS, in the area of Health Information (TABNET). In order to calculate the incidence, the total number of TKA revisions and as denominator the total national, regional or state population for the period studied was used as numerator.
