Objective: To improve the clinical utility of the plantaris tendon mainly by summarizing its anatomical characteristics, biomechanical properties, harvesting methods, and its applications in ligament reconstruction.
Methods: The relevant literature from domestic and international databases regarding the anatomical and biomechanical characteristics of the plantaris tendon and its applications in ligament reconstruction was comprehensively reviewed and systematically summarized.
Results: The plantaris tendons have an absence.
De novo glomerular injuries or relapse of nephropathy following COVID-19 vaccine has been reported. Here we present the first case of successful treatment of new-onset diabetes mellitus and biopsy-proven IgA nephropathy after COVID-19 vaccination. A 56-year-old man with no known medical history of renal dysfunction or diabetes mellitus developed both within 3 months after receiving a third dose of inactivated COVID-19 vaccine (Vero cells).

Methods: Based on 80 UM samples from the Cancer Genome Atlas, the transcriptome gene expression and clinical characteristics were analyzed to identify immune-related genes that contributed most to prognosis based on LASSO Cox regression. By combining the gene expression level with the corresponding regression coefficient, a risk score was calculated and all patients were divided into high- and low-risk groups.
Background: Osteosarcoma is the most common primary malignant bone tumor. The current study was conducted to describe the general condition of patients with primary osteosarcoma in a single cancer center in Tianjin, China and to investigate the associated factors in osteosarcoma patients with lung metastasis.
Methods: From February 2009 to October 2020, patients from Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, China were retrospectively analyzed.
Objective: To compare the biomechanical properties of percutaneous cement discoplasty (PCD) in the spinal column between different implant-endplate friction.
Methods: A validated L3-Scarumfinite element (FE) model was modified for simulation. In the PCD model, the L4/5 level was modified based on model 1 (M1) and model 2 (M2).
Purpose: Bone metastasis in breast cancer remains globally concerned. Accurate survival estimation would be beneficial for clinical decision-making, especially for the patients with potential indications of surgery. Based on a retrospective cohort from China, the study aimed to construct a prognostic prediction nomogram for breast cancer patients with bone metastasis.

Methods: A total of 35 OS patients at Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital between 2017 and 2021 were collected (the construction cohort). Another 12 OS patients between 2019 and 2021 in P.
Background: The aim of this meta-analysis was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of peri-articular injection of tranexamic acid (TXA) during total knee arthroplasty (TKA) from clinical controlled trials.
Method: Eligible scientific articles published prior to October 2021 were retrieved from the PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect and Cochrane Library databases. The statistical analysis was performed with RevMan 5.
Objective: Based on a large public cohort, we aimed to investigate the prevalence of distant metastases in patients with osteosarcoma, to evaluate the survival of patients with different metastases and to reveal the related risk and prognostic factors for distant metastases.
Methods: The information of osteosarcoma patients with or without distant metastases was retrospectively extracted from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result database from January 2010 to December 2015. Patients were excluded if they were diagnosed at autopsy or via death certification.
Based on the one of the largest hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) population with bone metastasis (BM) from the single center in Tianjin, China, the present study aimed to investigate the risk and survival of synchronous bone metastasis (sBM) and metachronous bone metastasis (mBM) in HCC, and to reveal characteristics and related factors of HCC patients with bone metastasis. HCC patients with bone metastasis between 2009 and 2017 from Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital, Tianjin, China, were involved. Chi-square test/ Fisher's exact test and Logistic regression were used to estimate the risk factors of bone metastasis in HCC.

Methods: Potential academic articles were identified from PubMed, Springer, ScienceDirect, and Cochrane Library from the inception of electronic databases to July 2020. The statistical analyses were performed with RevMan 5.
Background: Colorectal cancer (CRC) is a major cancer burden, and prognosis is determined by many demographic and clinicopathologic factors. The present study aimed to construct a prognostic nomogram for colorectal cancer patients with distant metastasis.
Methods: Colorectal cancer patients with distant metastasis diagnosed between 2010 and 2016 were selected from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results database.
This study aims to assess the sex disparities in clinical characteristics and synchronous distant metastasis occurrence at diagnosis, as well as the subsequent prognosis in non-sex-specific cancers. The study included details from patients diagnosed with non-sex-specific cancers, during the period from 2010 to 2016, in the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program. The distant metastasis prevalence and subsequent survival time were summarized in the total population and the population with specific cancers of different systems.

Methods: This is a retrospective analysis of records from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result (SEER) database. Clear information on the distant metastasis of cancer is provided in the SEER database for patients diagnosed between January 2010 and December 2016.

Background: Malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors (MPNSTs) are a type of soft tissue sarcomas (STS) with recurrence and metastatic potential. We aimed to investigate the risk factors for developing distant metastases (DM) and to identify the prognostic factors in patients with DM.
Methods: Based on the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Result (SEER) database, MPNST patients diagnosed between 2010 and 2016 were extracted in our study.

This study aimed to develop a model that fused multiple features (multi-feature fusion model) for predicting metachronous distant metastasis (DM) in breast cancer (BC) based on clinicopathological characteristics and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). A nomogram based on clinicopathological features (clinicopathological-feature model) and a nomogram based on the multi-feature fusion model were constructed based on BC patients with DM (n=67) and matched patients (n=134) without DM. DM was diagnosed on average (17.

We selected distant metastasis patients from the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database. The associations between the characteristics of the patients at admission and overall survival were determined.
