Article Synopsis
  • Primary Sjögren syndrome (pSjS) is a common autoimmune disease marked by overstimulation of B cells and high levels of autoantibodies, prompting research into autoantibodies related to salivary gland epithelial cells (SGECs) for potential biomarkers and understanding disease mechanisms.
  • The study used various methods, including immunofluorescence and mass spectrometry, to identify autoantibodies against SGECs in pSjS patients, comparing the results with healthy individuals.
  • The anti-calreticulin (CALR) antibody was identified as a significant marker in pSjS, found in 30.83% of patients and linked to clinical symptoms like weight loss and vasculitis, along

Article Synopsis
  • - The study aimed to analyze how COVID-19 affects patients with Takayasu's arteritis (TAK), particularly focusing on infection rates and symptoms among this population compared to their co-residents in China.
  • - Results showed that TAK patients had a lower infection rate (79.13% vs 90.67%) but experienced more gastrointestinal issues, sleep problems, and multi-organ symptoms post-infection, with a notable percentage suffering from post-acute sequelae of COVID-19 (PASC).
  • - Despite experiencing more symptoms, TAK patients did not have severe outcomes from COVID-19, and infection did not significantly increase the risk of disease relapse; however, those on csDMARDs treatment might be more susceptible

Background/objective: The neurological involvement associated with primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) can be life threatening. However, the specific characteristics of pSS-related neurological involvement remain obscure. This study aimed at determining the clinical characteristics of this neurological involvement in patients with pSS.

Primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is a rheumatic disease characterized by the destruction of salivary and lacrimal glands, and its pathogenesis mechanism remains unclear. Gq is the -subunit of the heterotrimeric Gq protein. Researches demonstrated that Gq was involved in the pathogenesis regulation of several rheumatic diseases.

Objective: To explore and develop three-dimension (3D) virtual reality (VR) liver model and convert computed tomography data into a fully 3D VR environment for display, measure and manipulation.

Methods: 3D-reconstruction of liver was restored from spiral computed tomography (CT) data by using LiVirtue software. Dextrobeam was used to view the 3D model in the VR environment.
