Aims: To explore the relationship between neighbourhood environments and mental health by integrating subjective and objective perspectives.

Design: A cross-sectional study.

Methods: From September 2023 to January 2024, adult residents at the physical examination centers of two public hospitals in China completed measurements of subjective neighbourhood environment, depressive and anxiety symptoms, psychological stress, and socio-demographic characteristics.

The association between food environments and cardiovascular disease outcomes: A systematic review.

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is the leading cause of death worldwide, particularly affecting low- and middle-income countries. Food environments may be linked with the risk of CVD; however, current study findings regarding their relationship are inconsistent. A systematic review of their associations is needed to guide interventions to improve cardiovascular health.

Objective: This study aimed to explore the mediating roles of mindfulness and illness perception in the effects of a social media-based Mindfulness psyCho-behAvioRal intErvention (MCARE) on depressive and anxiety symptoms among patients with ACS.

Methods: This study conducted a secondary longitudinal mediation analysis using data from a randomized controlled trial of the MCARE grogram in patients with ACS. Participants were recruited at two tertiary hospitals in Jinan, China.

Diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs) are a prevalent and profoundly debilitating complication that afflicts individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM). These ulcers are associated with substantial morbidity, recurrence rates, disability, and mortality, imposing substantial economic, psychological, and medical burdens. Timely detection and intervention can mitigate the morbidity and disparities linked to DFU.

Relationships between disease severity, psychological stress, and health-related quality of life among patients with acute coronary syndrome: mediation of illness perception.

Aims: Patients with acute coronary syndrome (ACS) often experience reduced health-related quality of life (HRQOL), which may be attributable to the disease severity and psychological stress. While illness perception is speculated to be a potential pathway underlying these relationships, evidence supporting this mechanism remains limited. This study aimed to investigate the relationships between disease severity, psychological stress, and HRQOL and whether these relationships are mediated by illness perception in patients with ACS.

Impact of perioperative enhanced recovery after surgery on wound infection in patients undergoing orthopaedic surgery: A meta-analysis.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of perioperative application of enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) concepts on wound infections and post-operative complications in patients receiving orthopaedic surgery, to provide a theoretical basis for post-operative care. Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) on the application of ERAS to patients receiving orthopaedic surgery, published up to October 2023, were identified in PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Embase, Wanfang, China Biomedical Literature Database and China National Knowledge Infrastructure databases. Literature was screened and evaluated by two reviewers based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and data were extracted from the final included articles.

Effect of humanised care on the surgical site wound infection after caesarean: A meta-analysis.

Herein, a meta-analysis was conducted to systematically evaluate the effect of humanised care on maternal postoperative wound infections in patients who underwent caesarean section. A computerised search of Embase, Cochrane Library, PubMed, Web of Science, China National Knowledge Infrastructure, Chinese Biomedical Literature Database and Wanfang database was performed, supplemented by a manual search from database inception to September 2023, to collate randomised controlled trials (RCTs) regarding the application of humanised care during the perioperative period of caesarean section. Two researchers screened and selected studies identified according to inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the included literature was evaluated for quality, extracted information and required data.

Polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), as a member of persistent organic pollutants (POPs), have posed a risk to humans and the environment until today. The monitoring of phytotoxic PCB which is toxic to plants, is especially important for ecological early warning and pollution management. In this work, β-cyclodextrin modified silver nanoparticles are prepared in a one-pot method, integrating the synthesis and surface modification in one step.

Molecular dynamics study of low molecular weight gel forming salt-triggered dipeptide.

Molecular dynamics simulation method was used to study the aggregation of Na and Ca salts in different concentrations of Naphthalene-dipeptide (2NapFF) solutions. The results show that high-valence Ca triggers the formation of a gel at a certain dipeptide concentration, and the low-valence Na system follows the aggregation law of general surfactants. The results also show that hydrophobic and electrostatic forces are the main driving forces for the formation of dipeptide aggregates, and that hydrogen bonds do not play a major role in the formation of dipeptide solution aggregates.

A prospective study on the application of HINTS in distinguishing the localization of acute vestibular syndrome.

Background: Acute vestibular syndrome (AVS) is a common clinical syndrome in neurology clinics and emergency department. Canonical standard for AVS diagnosis requires the presence of persistent vertigo for more than 24 h. HINTS (head impulse-nystagmus-test of skew) is an emerging scheme in the diagnosis of AVS.

Clinical Efficacy of Budesonide/Glycopyrronium Bromide/Formoterol in the Treatment of Patients with Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Its Effect on Inflammatory Factors.

Objective: To examine the clinical efficacy of budesonide/glycopyrronium bromide/formoterol (Breztri Aerosphere) as an adjunct to acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS).

Methods: A prospective study enrolled 120 patients with pulmonary endogenous ARDS admitted to the Department of Critical Care Medicine at the Fourth Hospital of Baotou from January 2017 to January 2020, and all enrollments were assigned (1 : 1) to receive conventional treatment (control group) or Breztri Aerosphere (study group).

Results: Breztri Aerosphere was associated with a significantly higher total efficacy versus conventional treatment.

Analysis of Rehabilitation Effect of Neurology Nursing on Stroke Patients with Diabetes Mellitus and Its Influence on Quality of Life and Negative Emotion Score.

Objective: To explore and analyze the rehabilitation effect of neurology nursing on stroke patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and its influence on quality of life and negative emotion score.

Methods: In this experiment, 110 stroke patients with DM diagnosed and treated in our hospital from 2018 to 2020 were randomly selected and assigned to the study group (SG) and the control group (CG) according to different nursing methods, with 55 cases in each group. In SG, they were given neurology nursing.

Effect of continuity of care on quality of life and medication compliance of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction.

Objective: To investigate the effects of continuity of care (COC) on the quality of life and medication compliance of patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted in 98 patients with STEMI that were treated in our hospital from January 2017 to December 2018. The 98 cases were assigned to a control group given routine nursing and an experimental group given routine nursing combined with COC according to different nursing approaches.

Development of Injectable Hydroxyapatite/2-(dimethylamino)Ethyl Methacrylate/Polyvinylpyrrolidone Aqua-Hydrogel System to Repair of the Shoulder Joint Head for Hemiarthroplasty.

This study aimed to develop osteogenic structure assembly for modular bone treatment presentations, effect of 2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate and polyvinyl pyrrolidone combination as cell adhesive molecule with hydroxyapatite-based composite as osteoconductive constituent was inspected on bone fracture repair. The prepared injectable composite hydrogel showed significantly improved mechanical stability. The ternary composite gel was characterized for functional group modifications and chemical interactions using Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).

Study on the value of nasogastric tube nutrition nursing in critical patients with indwelling nasogastric tube.

Purpose: To explore the application value of nasogastric tube nutrition nursing in critical patients with an indwelling nasogastric tube.

Methods: A total of 130 patients who were hospitalized in the ICU of our hospital and retained nasogastric tubes from January 2019 to January 2020 were selected as the research subjects, and they were divided into a control group (n=65, routine nursing) and an observation group (n=65, nasogastric tube nutrition nursing) according to a random number table method. The nutrition index level, gastrointestinal complications, adverse events, Glasgow coma index (GCS) score, acute physiology and chronic health (APACHE II), and quality of life score of the two groups were compared.

Effect of continuous traditional Chinese medicine nursing on patients with coronary heart disease.

Objective: To investigate the effect of continuous traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) nursing combined with atorvastatin tablets on psychological status, quality of life, and sleep quality of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD).

Methods: One hundred CHD patients admitted in Jinan City People's Hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were divided into an experimental group and a control group according to the order of admission, with 50 patients in each group. The experimental group was treated with continuous TCM nursing with atorvastatin tablets, while the control group took atorvastatin tablets alone.

Application of evidence-based nursing in patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated with heart failure.

Objective: To explore the application of evidence-based nursing (EBN) in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) complicated with heart failure.

Methods: A total of 76 patients with acute myocardial infarction complicated with heart failure after Percutaneous Transluminal Coronary Intervention (PCI) were admitted to the Department of Cardiology of our hospital from April 2018 to October 2019 and randomly divided into the control group and the experimental group, with 38 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing and the experimental group received EBN nursing.

Three-dimensional nanorod array for label-free surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy analysis of microRNA pneumoconiosis biomarkers.

Novel approaches are required to overcome the challenges associated with conventional microRNA (miRNA) detection methods and realize the early diagnosis of diseases. This work describes a novel label-free surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) method for the detection of the miRNA biomarkers for pneumoconiosis on a three-dimensional Au-coated ZnO nanorod array (Au-ZnO NRA). The Au-ZnO NRA substrate, which was fabricated via a modified seeding method combined with ion sputtering, provided a high enhancement factor and good spatial uniformity of the signal.

Spectroscopic Characterization of a Polycaprolactone-Chitosan Electrospun Scaffold Modified with Photocatalytic TiO₂ Nanoparticles for Improved Wound Healing: A Complete Evaluation.

In the current study, we hypothesized that the electrospun scaffold chitosan (CS)/polycaprolactone (PCL)/titanium dioxide (TiO₂) could be prepared by combining CS, PCL, and TiO₂ nanoparticles (TiO₂ NPs) using an electrospinning technique for wound dressing applications. The CS/PCL/TiO₂ electrospun scaffold was prepared and characterized by UV-Vis, SEM, TEM, FTIR, and XRD analyses. Based on the UV-Vis analysis, the incorporation of CS/PCL on the surface of TiO₂ NPs affected their optical properties.
