Background: We aimed to assess the efficacy of the "fast first and then slowly" steroid-tapering regimen used in managing corticoid-sensitive patients with severe irAE after anti-PD-(L)1 therapy. Corticosteroids are the primary therapy for severe immune-related adverse events (irAEs). Less is known about the standard steroid-tapering regimen for corticoid-sensitive patients.

Besides degradation, endolysosomal organelles can fuse with the plasma membrane and contribute to unconventional secretion. Here, we identify a function for mammalian SKP1 in endolysosomes that is independent of its established role as an essential component of the family of SCF/CRL1 ubiquitin ligases.

However, these PPIs maps were created by expressing each viral protein singularly, which does not reflect the life situation in which certain viral proteins synergistically interact with host proteins. Our results reveal the host-viral protein-protein interactome of SARS-CoV-2 NSP3, NSP4, and NSP6 expressed individually or in combination.

Circular RNA is a newly discovered member of non-coding RNA (ncRNA) and regulates the target gene by acting as a micro-RNA sponge. It plays vital roles in various diseases. However, the functions of circular RNA in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) remain still unclear.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFRationale: Besides the T790 M mutation, it may coexist with bypass pathway activation in real clinical cases for patients with EGFR mutations who resisted to the first- and second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). There are limited clinical trial data describing the efficacy of osimertinib combined with MET inhibition in EGFR T790M-mutant NSCLC patients with Met amplification.
Patient Concerns: A non-smoking 53-year-old male patient with lung adenocarcinoma underwent gefitinib, afatinib, and osimertinib combined with crizotinib treatment and developed different EGFR resistance mutations.
Circular RNA (circRNA) is a type of noncoding RNA that can interact with miRNAs to regulate gene expression. However, little is known concerning circRNA, which is crucial in the pathogenesis of lung cancer. To date, limited studies have explored the role of circ_0044516 in lung cancer progression.

Background: Exosomal circular RNAs (circRNAs) are involved in the pathogenesis of prostate cancer (PCa) and chemotherapy resistance. This research aimed to explore the function and molecular mechanism of circRNA X-linked inhibitor of apoptosis (circ-XIAP) in docetaxel (DTX) resistance of PCa.
Methods: The expression of circ-XIAP, microRNA-1182 (miR-1182), tumor protein D52 (TPD52) was measured by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR).
Objective: To investigate the manifestation, mechanisms, and treatment of isolated partial femoral avulsion fractures of the posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) in adults.
Methods: From January 2011 to December 2018, we retrospectively reviewed the clinical data of three patients with isolated partial femoral avulsion fractures of the PCL who were admitted to our institution. All of these patients were admitted to our emergency department within 24 h after injury.

Background: Peripheral neurotoxicity is common in patients with digestive malignancies receiving chemotherapy containing oxaliplatin, and there is still no effective drug to prevent or treat this complication.
Methods: Seventy-nine patients receiving chemotherapy containing oxaliplatin were included, and the relationship between chemotherapy regimens, cycles, and cumulative dose of oxaliplatin and peripheral neurotoxicity was analyzed. Patients were divided into two groups of control or intervention.
Background: Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the fourth most common malignant tumor in China. Temozolomide (TMZ) is a common chemotherapy drug which can effectively kill HCC cells in vitro. However, it is possible that HCC cells possess intrinsic resistance to TMZ.

Methods: One hundred thirty-nine patients with osteoarthritis who underwent TKA at the Department of Osteoarthritis in Luhe hospital (Tongzhou, Beijing) from January 2011 to January 2012 were followed up. Their health-related quality of life (HRQoL) was evaluated using Short-Form Health Survey (SF) -36 Chinese version, and compared with those of the normal population to assess quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) gained after surgery for its effectiveness of the treatment.

Understanding landscape pattern change and its response to anthropogenic disturbance is of great significance for ecosystem conservation and management. Based on high-precision land use data from 1980 to 2015, we studied the spatial and temporal changes of landscape patterns in the Qinling Mountains and its response to anthropogenic disturbance by using the landscape pattern vulnerability index and human disturbance degree constructed by the landscape pattern index and the surface coverage classification system. The results showed that the degree of landscape fragmentation gradually increased in the Qinling Mountains.

In the study, we summarized our experience with bronchoplasty treatment for the whole lung atelectasis caused by EBTB in main bronchus, in which long-term medical therapy failed.
Methods: Eight patients with whole lung atelectasis, who suffered from EBTB in main bronchus, were treated by bronchoplasty: 3 patients were treated by bronchoplasty for the left main bronchus; 2 patients were treated by sleeve resection of right upper and middle lobes; and 3 patients were treated by sleeve resection of left upper lobe.
Background: Dysregulated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) play critical roles in tumorigenesis and tumor progression. The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between lncRNA ZEB1-AS1 expression and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis.
Methods: Expression levels of lncRNA ZEB1-AS1 in 183 NSCLC specimens were determined by quantitative real-time PCR (qRT-PCR).
Objective: To explore the expression of miR-132 in prostate cancer and its effects on the growth and invasiveness of prostate cancer cells and the influence of hypoxia on the level of miR-132 and biological behavior of prostate cancer cells.
Methods: Real time PCR was used to measure the expression level of miR-132 in the prostate cancer tissue, analyze its relationship with the clinical stage and Gleason score of prostate cancer, and determine the influence of hypoxia on the miR-132 level in the human prostate cancer PC3 cell line in vitro. Sulfor-hodamine B chromatometry and Matrigel invasion assay were employed to detect the effects of hypoxia and miR-132 mimic plasmid transfection on the viability and invasiveness of PC3 cells in vitro.

However, reports are rarely seen at home and abroad about the application of ultrasound elastography in the diagnosis of prostate cancer.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFEpidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs) are being widely used as targeted therapy in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), but most cases acquire drug-resistance in 9 months. However, the mechanisms of resistance are still not fully understood. Since it has been demonstrated that EGFR-TKI-mediated repression of downstream signaling cascades and apoptosis induction is a key mechanism through which EGFR-TKIs exert their cytotoxic effects, we reasoned that activation of downstream signaling pathways and changes in the expression of apoptosis-related proteins contribute to the acquired resistance to EGFR-TKIs.
