Determination of menstrual hygiene management and genital hygiene behaviors of students: A university example from Turkey.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the use of menstrual hygiene products and genital hygiene practices among female university students.

Method: A cross-sectional study design was employed. Data were collected using the Descriptive Information Form and the Genital Hygiene Behaviors Scale (GHBS).

The Relationship Between Physical Activity Level and Exercise Capacity and Respiratory Parameters in Individuals With Spinal Cord Injury.

Background: Spinal cord injury (SCI) detrimentally impacts individuals' exercise capacity and respiratory parameters depending on sensory, motor, and autonomic dysfunctions. Regular physical activity (PA) positively impacts cardiovascular health and pulmonary function in these individuals. This study determined the relationship between PA and exercise capacity and respiratory parameters in individuals with SCI.

Treatment Impact on the Long-Term Ocular Outcomes in Behçet's-Related Uveitis.

Purpose: To examine the demographic characteristics, findings and complication rates in patients with Behçet's uveitis (BU) and to investigate the effect of early biological therapy on the development of complications.

Methods: Medical records of 94 patients with BU were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic data, ocular findings and complications at presentation, complications during follow-up, and treatments received during follow-up were analyzed.

Physiotherapy interventions on chest wall mobility in obstructive lung diseases: A systematic review.

Purpose: The aim of this systematic review was to investigate the effectiveness of physiotherapy interventions on chest mobility in obstructive lung diseases.

Methods: Searches were performed in PEDro, Pubmed and Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials databases without language restrictions between 2010 and 25th December 2020. Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) investigating physiotherapy interventions on chest wall mobility were included.

Effects of Different Taping Techniques in Individuals with Myofascial Pain Syndrome with a Trigger Point in the Trapezius Muscle: A Sham-controlled Randomized Study.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the effects of three different kinesio taping (KT) techniques in individuals with myofascial pain syndrome (MPS) who have a trigger point in the trapezius muscle.

Methods: The individuals included in our study were randomly divided into four groups: Group 1: Functional correlation technique, group 2: Fascia correlation technique, group 3: Star taping technique (STT), and group 4: Sham group. The visual analog scale was used to assess pain, cervical joint range of motion (ROM) with a universal goniometer, grip strength with a hand dynamometer, number of active trigger points by palpation, pressure-pain threshold with an algometer, quality of life with the Nottingham Health Profile and functional level with the Neck Disability index were evaluated before and after treatment.

Mortality Factors in Crush Syndrome.

Background: Crush Syndrome is a major cause of morbidity and mortality following large-scale catastrophic earthquakes. Since there are no randomized controlled studies on Crush Syndrome, knowledge on this subject is limited to expert experience. The primary objective is to analyze the epidemiological and demographic characteristics, clinical outcomes, and mortality factors of earthquake victims after the Pazarcik and Elbistan earthquakes on February 6, 2023.

Gender differences in patient experience in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies: Subanalysis from the COVAD dataset.

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the gender-based differences in idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIMs), with a particular focus on patient-reported outcomes, utilizing the data obtained through the international COVID-19 vaccination in autoimmune disease e-survey.

Methods: Patient-reported outcomes including fatigue, pain, and physical function were extracted from the COVID-19 vaccination in autoimmune disease database and compared between genders, adjusting for demographics and IIM subgroups by multivariable analysis. Inclusion body myositis (IBM) was analysed separately because of the substantial differences in outcomes.

Efficacy of Simultaneous Application of Subretinal Tissue Plasminogen Activator and Bevacizumab for Submacular Hemorrhages.

Objectives: The aim of the study was to evaluate the patients who received simultaneous subretinal tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and bevacizumab for submacular hemorrhages secondary to neovascular age-related macular degeneration.

Methods: This retrospective study included patients who underwent pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with simultaneous subretinal tPA and subretinal bevacizumab with 18% SF6 tamponade. Anatomical and functional results of the patients before surgery and at the 1, 6, and 12 months after surgery, additional treatments, and complications after PPV were evaluated.

Correlates of breakthrough COVID-19 in vaccinated patients with systemic sclerosis: survival analysis from a multicentre international patient-reported survey.

This study aimed to assess the incidence, predictors, and outcomes of breakthrough infection (BI) following coronavirus disease (COVID-19) vaccination in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), a risk group associated with an immune-suppressed state and high cardiopulmonary disease burden. Cross-sectional data from fully vaccinated respondents with SSc, non-SSc autoimmune rheumatic diseases (AIRDs), and healthy controls (HCs) were extracted from the COVAD database, an international self-reported online survey. The reference dependence roots of inaction inertia: A query theory account.

Inaction inertia is the tendency to forego an opportunity after missing a significantly better opportunity. We show that inaction inertia is rooted in reference dependence. This is consistent with prior work finding that smaller discounts are devalued and inertia is motivated by avoidance of loss.

Systemic sclerosis and COVID-19 vaccine safety: short-term insights from the global COVID-19 vaccination in autoimmune disease (COVAD) survey.

The safety profile of COVID-19 vaccines is understudied in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc). We compared short-term adverse events (AEs) 7 days following vaccination in patients with SSc vs other rheumatic (AIRDs), non-rheumatic autoimmune diseases (nrAIDs), and healthy controls (HCs). The COVID-19 Vaccination in autoimmune diseases (COVAD) self-reporting e-survey was circulated by a group of > 110 collaborators in 94 countries from March to December 2021.

The influence of positive affect on sensitivity to important omissions.

It is surprisingly difficult to notice when important information is missing (omission neglect) and yet, social media, advertisements, and other forms of communication typically only include one-sided information or positive attributes and omit opposing views or negative attributes. Even though it is surprisingly difficult to overcome this natural tendency, there are circumstances when decision makers are more sensitive to omissions. Understanding how and when decision makers can overcome this omission neglect tendency can be helpful to improve decision making in many situations.

The Effects of Individualized Information and Emotional Support Education on Midwifery Students' Anxiety during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

: Midwifery students were not able to participate in internship programs and related practices during the COVID-19 pandemic. This kept them from meeting graduation requirements because they could not do the one-on-one observations for clinical case management. In this study, we aim to determine the effects of Individualized Information and Emotional Support Education (IESE) on the midwifery students' anxiety levels during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome in monozygotic twin brothers: Case report.

Risk Factors for Ocular Complications and Visual Loss in Patients with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis-associated Uveitis at a Turkish Tertiary Ophthalmology and Pediatric Rheumatology Referral Center.

Purpose: To investigate the rates of ocular complications and visual loss and their risk factors in patients with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) -associated uveitis.

Methods: Medical records of 51 patients were reviewed.

Results: The incidence of visual loss to the 20/50 or worse was found to be 0026/ eye-year (EY) in the present study.
