Background: To minimize adverse events of peripheral blood stem cell (PBSC) collection in healthy donors, it is reasonable to limit the total dose of granulocyte colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and/or the number of apheresis days without decreasing of PBSCs yield. Therefore, we have started to collect G-CSF induced PBSCs on day 4 instead of on day 5. So, we retrospectively aimed to investigate the results of this 4-day G-CSF administration.

  • The study evaluated how renal tumor biopsy (RTB) impacted the success of trifecta criteria in patients who underwent open partial nephrectomy (OPN) for renal cancer from 2012 to 2023.
  • Out of 167 patients, trifecta achievement rates were similar between the RTB group (53.3%) and the non-RTB group (54.76%), indicating no significant difference in surgical outcomes.
  • However, the RTB group showed a higher incidence of lymphovascular invasion, suggesting that while RTB is safe, it may be associated with some negative pathology outcomes.

Ageing, as defined in terms of the slope of the probability of death versus time (hazard curve), is a generic phenomenon observed in nearly all complex systems. Theoretical models of ageing predict hazard curves that monotonically increase in time, in discrepancy with the peculiar ups and downs observed empirically. Here we introduce the concept of co-ageing, where the demographic trajectories of multiple cohorts couple together, and show that co-ageing dynamics can account for the anomalous hazard curves exhibited by some species.

We constructed two novel boron-dipyrromethene (BODIPY)-based fluorescent probes, BOPD and BOBA, each equipped with the phosgene specific recognition units -phenylenediamine (OPD) and -aminobenzylamine (OBA) at the 2-position of the BODIPY core. BOPD and BOBA represent rare examples of BODIPY-based probes that operate by modulating an intramolecular charge transfer process (ICT), as validated by computational studies. We systematically compared the analytic performance of those recognition units while focusing on selectivity, fluorescence turn-on ratios and response times.
