Purpose: Patient self-care and knowledge of chronic kidney disease (CKD) play a crucial role in treatment effectiveness at slowing disease progression and reducing complications. There is need for tools that can quantitatively assess patients' knowledge of CKD. We aimed to translate the Kidney Disease Knowledge Survey (KiKS) to Turkish, validate the questionnaire among CKD patients, and identify the determinants of CKD knowledge.

The surface morphology results of encapsulated CEO showed the dispersion in the wall material matrix, and the observed specific common peaks in the FT-IR spectra of encapsulated and non-encapsulated CEO proved the successful encapsulation. The antibacterial activity of non-encapsulated CEO against BC1402, ATCC 27853, Typhimurium ATCC 0402, ATCC 25923 were first evaluated by disc diffusion assay.

There is a need for a structured framework for providing psychological support to individuals with mental health conditions receiving investigational psilocybin treatment. The primary benefit of such a framework is to support a safe and meaningful psilocybin experience.

Introduction: Neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) emerge as one of the areas where palliative care is most needed. This study was conducted to examine the attitudes and compassion fatigue levels of NICUs nurses working in Şanlıurfa, where the fertility rate and infant mortality are highest in Turkey, toward palliative care.
Design: This study was conducted in descriptive type.
Objectives: To evaluate the anatomical and visual outcomes of the multilayered inverted internal limiting membrane (ML-ILM) flap technique in the treatment of optic disc pit maculopathy (ODPM).
Materials And Methods: In this retrospective interventional case series, medical records and macular spectral-domain optical coherence tomography images of patients who underwent combined pars plana vitrectomy with ML-ILM flap surgery for ODPM were analyzed. Best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) and central macular thickness (CMT) at postoperative 6 months were compared with baseline findings.

Background: Brucellosis is one of the most common zoonotic infections. Although culture is the gold standard diagnostic method, bacterial growth in blood cultures may not always occur due to various factors. We aimed to investigate demographic, clinical, and laboratory findings that may have predictive significance for bacteremia in brucellosis.

In order to assess the potential risk of metal contamination and hydrological changes in the Osor River by using oxidative stress and neurotoxicity biomarkers via IBR analyses in the barbel, five different stations were chosen: upstream (S1: reference site and S2: hydrologically changed), mine (S3), and downstream (S4 and S5). The highest tissue metal levels were measured particularly at S3 and following downstream sites.

Background: To prevent incontinence-associated dermatitis (IAD) and manage the treatment, the cause of IAD must be determined correctly and distinguished from other skin problems. IAD can be prevented with professional care.
Aim: This systematic review aims to systematically examine the methods used in the prevention and treatment of urinary incontinence-associated dermatitis.
Introduction: Patients with airway diseases who bear the burden of smoking need access to smoking cessation support. We aimed to investigate the impact of immediately scheduled appointments on access to smoking cessation clinics compared with usual care in this patient group.
Methods: This multicenter, prospective, randomized, open-label study was conducted between November 2022 and June 2023 at pulmonary outpatient clinics.
Introduction: Canavan disease is an autosomal recessive disorder that causes accumulation of N-acetyl ASPArtic acid in the brain due to ASPArtoacylase deficiency with homozygous or compound heterozygous pathogenic variants in the gene located on the short arm of chromosome 17. Clinical findings are hypotonia, progressive macrocephaly, deafness, nystagmus, blindness, and brain atrophy.
Case Presentation: A one-year-old female case was evaluated in our medical genetics clinic for hypotonia, nystagmus, and strabismus.
Background: Acute flaccid paralysis (AFP) is a complex clinical syndrome with various aetiologies. If untreated, AFP may lead to death due to failure of respiratory muscles. Tick paralysis, which is a noninfectious neurologic syndrome of AFP, occurs following tick attachment, engorgement, and injection of tick saliva toxins.

This study was conducted to explore the potential use of dexmedetomidine, a sedative with antiapoptotic, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties, in mitigating the impacts of pancreatic IR on kidney and liver tissues.
Methods: A total of 24 rats were randomly divided into four groups: control (C), dexmedetomidine (D), ischemia reperfusion (IR), and dexmedetomidine ischemia reperfusion (D-IR).
In this study, we compared the effectiveness of various methods used in the treatment of cattle with cutaneous papillomatosis. Ivermectin, Tarantula cubensis extract, levamisole, autovaccine, and a combination of T. cubensis extract + levamisole were administered to the animals.

However, intensified immunosuppression is known to cause unwanted side effects such as infection and malignancy. Furthermore, the effects of the routine use of immunosuppressants in low-risk kidney transplant recipients are still not clear.

Systemic inflammation and oxidative stress play an important role in the pathogenesis of COPD. Exacerbations in COPD reduce the quality of life and are associated with rapid disease progression.

Increased mTORC1 signaling is known to predispose one to diseases such as insulin resistance (IR), obesity, and diabetes mellitus.

The antidepressant effect of zinc on mammals has been documented in recent decades, and the concentration of the antidepressant fluoxetine (FLX) in aquatic environments has been rising constantly. The aim of the present study is to evaluate the combined toxicity of a serotonin reuptake inhibitor (FLX) and Zn on a non-target aquatic model organism Daphnia magna. Animals were exposed to single and binary combinations of FLX (20.

After mating, we collected the plasma samples from a total of 8 ewes on day 22 of pregnancy (P22; n = 4) and day 22 of the estrous cycle (C22; n=4). We used mature miRNA sequences for oar-miR-485-5p and oar-miR-493-5p out of one hundred fifty, which were retrieved from our microarray results of previous study.

Progesterone (P), a steroid hormone, carries out its effects through both genomic and non-genomic (the cell membrane-associated) receptors. This study aimed to ascertain luteal expression patterns of genomic and non-genomic progesterone receptors in bitches in physiological (early dioestrus and early pregnant) and pathological (pyometra) reproductive states.
