Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) are promising materials for gas adsorption; however, only a small number of COFs has been studied for a few types of gas separations to date. To unlock the full potential of the COF space, composed of 69 784 different types of materials, we studied the adsorption of five important gas molecules, CO, CH, H, N, and O in COFs at various pressures combining high-throughput molecular simulations and machine learning. Adsorbent performances of COFs were then explored for industrially critical separations, such as CO/CH, CO/H, CO/N, CH/H, CH/N, and O/N.

Clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC), despite having a low mutational burden, is considered immunogenic because it occasionally undergoes spontaneous regressions and often responds to immunotherapies. The signature lesion in ccRCC is inactivation of the VHL tumor suppressor gene and consequent upregulation of the HIF transcription factor. An earlier case report described a ccRCC patient who was cured by an allogeneic stem cell transplant and later found to have donor-derived T cells that recognized a ccRCC-specific peptide encoded by a HIF-responsive endogenous retrovirus (ERV), ERVE-4.

The aim of our study is to compare the effects of pirfenidone and nintedanib on lung function and radiologic findings in Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis and to identify which drug is more appropriate for which patient group. The data of patients who were treated in our department for at least one year between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2022 and who were started on pirfenidone or nintedanib treatment with the diagnosis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis were retrospectively reviewed. The patients were divided into two groups-the nintedanib and pirfenidone groups-and both groups were compared in terms of progression in lung function tests (changes in FEV1, FVC, 6 MWT and DLCO values at the 3rd, 6th, 9th and 12th months compared to baseline values) and radiological findings (the presence of progression in findings such as ground-glass opacity, reticulation, honeycomb and traction bronchiectasis) within 1 year after diagnosis.

Background: Environmental justice (EJ) is essential for addressing the disproportionate burden of environmental hazards on vulnerable populations, particularly pregnant individuals and young children. Developmental sensitivity to toxic exposures, such as air pollution, lead, and endocrine-disrupting chemicals, is compounded by systemic inequities like food insecurity and housing instability. Structural racism and socioeconomic disadvantage further exacerbate these risks, leading to higher rates of preterm birth, low birth weight, and maternal morbidity in marginalized communities.
