Limited advancements in managing malignant brain tumors have resulted in poor prognoses for glioblastoma (GBM) patients. Standard treatment involves surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy, which lack specificity and damage healthy brain tissue. Boron-containing compounds, such as boric acid (BA), exhibit diverse biological effects, including anticancer properties.

To understand the impact of leukemia genetics on outcomes, we reviewed 267 adult patients with B-ALL treated with blinatumomab and used next generation sequencing to identify molecular alterations. Patients received blinatumomab for relapsed/refractory (R/R) disease (n=150), minimal residual disease (MRD+) (n=88), upfront as induction (n=10), or as consolidation in MRD- state (n=19).

Objectives: The study's goal is to find out if there is a link between the results of the 6-minute walk test (6MWT) done before surgery and the chance of getting pneumonia after surgery in people with stage I lung cancer who are having a video-assisted thoracoscopic lobectomy.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis on data from 194 patients with lung cancer who underwent VATS lung resection between January 2020 and August 2023. We assessed the preoperative 6MWT findings and the likelihood of developing postoperative pneumonia using a logistic regression model.
Background: Immune effector cell-associated neurotoxicity syndrome (ICANS) can be a severe, life-threatening toxicity following CAR T-cell therapy. While currently evaluated by the immune effector cell-associated encephalopathy (ICE) score, not all patients have changes in their ICE score and not all signs and symptoms of neurotoxicity are captured.
Methods: We conducted a prospective, single center cohort pilot study to evaluate a novel, rapid neurocognitive assessment tool (CART-NS) in detecting early, subtle neurotoxicity prior to the onset of ICANS and any deterioration in the ICE score.
Background: Cabazitaxel and Lu-PSMA-617 have been shown to improve survival in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC) previously treated with docetaxel and androgen receptor pathway inhibitors (ARPI). we aimed to evaluate the impact of sequencing cabazitaxel and Lu-PSMA-617 on survival outcomes in patients with mCRPC.
Patients And Methods: This is a retrospective, multicenter, cohort study which included patients with mCRPC who received sequential treatment with Lu-PSMA-617 and cabazitaxel between January 2015 and December 2023.
Purpose: To investigate the relationship between the cartilage acetabular index and acetabular development and secondary dysplasia.
Methods: A total of 58 hips underwent intraoperative arthrography-guided open reduction or limited open reduction due to developmental hip dysplasia between 2011 and 2015 was included in the study. We evaluated patients with acetabular angle 8º as group 2.
Purpose: Identifying prognostic indicators for risk stratification in metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) is crucial for optimizing treatment strategies and follow-up plans. This study aims to investigate the prognostic role of the glucose-to-lymphocyte ratio (GLR) in patients with mRCC receiving tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) as first-line therapy.
Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from the Turkish Oncology Group Kidney Cancer Consortium Database.
Background: The consequences of natural disasters, such as damage to food systems, destruction of transport infrastructure, and organizational issues, can threaten the food security of people. Hence, food security measures are among the most important responses in the management of natural disasters. This study was conducted to identify the challenges in food security response following a great earthquake in Turkey.

Orexins are excitatory peptides and associated with energy homeostasis, eating and drinking behaviors, sleep regulation, sleep-wake periods, analgesia, and cognitive activities such as attention, learning, and memory. The aim of this study was to reveal the relationship between plasma orexin levels and seizures in pediatric epilepsy patients with seizures, epilepsy patients in remission, and healthy control group with similar demographic characteristics.

We aimed to test different (ML) models to predict both overall survival and survival at specific time points in patients with non-metastatic colorectal cancer (CRC).
Methods: The clinicopathological and treatment data of non-metastatic CRC patients with more than 10 years of follow-up at a single center were retrospectively reviewed.
Introduction: Advances in neonatal and pediatric intensive care have improved patient survival rates, emphasizing the need for respiratory support in cases of chronic respiratory failure, resulting in the establishment of the Turkish National Pediatric Patients Receiving Home Mechanical Ventilation (HMV) Support Registration System in 2023. This study aims to present the initial findings of the registry.
Methods: In this cross-sectional study, epidemiological and demographic data was obtained from the registry and compared between invasive ventilation (IV) and non-invasive ventilation (NIV) groups.
The correlation between clinical outcomes and preoperative/postoperative measures of the lateral center-edge angle (LCEA) will help establish the cutoff values for this measurement and determine whether to obtain it from the lateral acetabular rim (LCEAR) or the lateral end of the sourcil (LCEAS). The hypothesis was that the LCEAS would be more sensitive than the LCEAR. An upper cutoff value of LCEA could predict better functional outcomes in FAI patients.

Methods: Data of children who met GBS diagnostic criteria were evaluated retrospectively. The sample was divided into three binary subgroups according to severe GBS (Hughes Functional Grading Scale [HFGS] ≥ 4 at admission), mechanical ventilation (MV) requirement, and poor prognosis (inability to walk independently, HFGS ≥ 3 after six months).
This study investigated the potential of extended irradiation combined with immature embryo culture techniques to accelerate generation advancements in safflower ( L.) breeding programs. We developed an efficient speed breeding method by applying light-emitting diodes (LEDs) that emit specific wavelengths, alongside the in vitro germination of immature embryos under controlled environmental conditions.

To achieve this, improvements in existing measurement methods such as thermocouples, thermistors, and infrared (IR) temperature sensors are being explored. However, traditional IR sensors are sensitive to interference from the heated glass ceramic, severely affecting accuracy.

Materials And Methods: This retrospective study included 44 dialysis patients with thrombosed AVFs from June 2022 to June 2024. Patients underwent Doppler ultrasound and SWE to assess thrombus age, followed by balloon angioplasty.
Membrane proteins play a crucial role in a variety of biological processes and are key targets for pharmaceutical development. Structural studies of membrane proteins provide molecular insights into the mechanisms of these processes and are essential for effective drug discovery. Historically, these studies have relied on solubilization of the target protein using detergents, but conventional detergents often fail to maintain the stability of challenging membrane proteins.

Despite its advantages, such as minimal invasiveness and a shorter recovery time, postoperative complications can occur, thereby necessitating effective risk assessment tools to identify at-risk patients. This study evaluated the Estimation of Physiologic Ability and Surgical Stress (E-PASS) scoring system's utility in predicting postoperative complications following standard PCNL.
