Faba bean (high- and low-tannin) protein isolates were water extracted followed by dialysis or micellization in comparison to concentrates from conventional alkali extraction + acid precipitation, and salt-based extraction (1% NaCl) + dialysis. Protein fractions were characterised for secondary structure conformational changes, crystalline structure, particle size distribution in aqueous suspension and thermal properties. Mild water or salt extraction did not influence particle size distribution.

For this, a total of 60 sample units, comprised of 30 LHS and 30 G collected from 3 slaughterhouses, were analysed by reference methods for detection and serotyping as revised ISO 6579-1:2017 and ISO 6579-3:2014, respectively. Also, Salmonella-specific real-time PCR (Salm-PCR) was used for species confirmation, while Salmonella Enteritidis (S.

A total of 96 pooled neck skin samples (PNSS) of 48 prechill (PreC) and 48 postchill (PosC) carcasses, representing 480 broilers collected in 6 mo' period were analyzed using ISO 6579-2:2012 Miniaturized Most Probable Number (ISO-mMPN) technique. Species confirmation and serovar identification was performed by Salmonella-specific real-time PCR (Salm-PCR) and conventional serotyping, respectively.

Cognitive disengagement syndrome (CDS) has been found to be associated with internalizing symptoms. Yet, no study thus far has focused on whether there is an association between obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and CDS. The purpose of this study is to examine the symptom frequency and clinical implications of CDS in children with OCD.

Methods: The study was conducted with 346 adolescents aged 12-18 who had been hospitalized with any psychiatric diagnosis between September 2016 and January 2020 in the child and adolescent psychiatry inpatient unit. The study considered the psychiatric diagnoses, based on the results of the DSM-5-based psychiatric interview; sociodemographic and clinical characteristics; the psychopathology history of first-degree relatives; comorbidities; length of hospital stay; income levels, and smoking, alcohol, and substance abuse.

A copper triflate-mediated approach to access copper complexes of pyrrole-substituted corroles from the reaction of 1,9-diformyldipyrromethanes and an excess amount of pyrrole is presented for the first time. This procedure is a simple and efficient way for the preparation of corroles with a polymerizable substituent on -positions.

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of CNC-grafting and nanoclay as filler at different ratios on the thermal, mechanical and water absorption behavior of the developed composites. The chemical grafting on CNC, its polymerization and effect of nanofiller were characterized and investigated by various analytical techniques.

Distinction was made between complexes resulting from interactions between carotenoids and either molecularly dispersed CDs or solid crystalline CDs, considering that both cases can occur depending on the complex formation process pathways. First, the formation of complexes from dispersed CD molecules was investigated considering five different CDs (αCD, βCD, methyl-βCD, hydroxypropyl-βCD, and γCD) and lutein, as a model carotenoid molecule.

However, this possible underlying mechanism behind recurrence has not been investigated sufficiently to date. This study aimed to explore whether there is a relationship between Achilles tendon elongation and recurrent metatarsus adductus deformity in children with unilateral clubfeet treated by the Ponseti method.

The aim of this study was to perform an in vitro assessment of the effects of radiation therapy on the morphological, mechanical, and chemical properties of primary and permanent teeth.
Methods: One hundred four extracted human teeth (52 impacted wisdom teeth, 52 primary molar teeth) were used.

Purpose: The goal of this work is to investigate the field width dependence of the volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) plan quality and to propose a half field method to irradiate large volumes effectively with VMAT.
Materials And Methods: We compared four different VMAT methods; namely three full field (3ff), four full field (4ff), three half field (3hf), four half field (4hf). To evaluate the impact of the field width on VMAT plan quality, 12 different size PTVs were created in the virtual phantom and treatment plans generated for each PTV were compared.
Low water activity (a) foods permit the survival of low-infectious dose pathogens including Escherichia coli and Salmonella. Desiccation of non-heat resistant E. coli and Salmonella enterica increases their heat resistance; therefore, alternative methods are necessary to ensure the safety of low a foods.

This study aimed to determine the current prevalence, serovar distribution and antimicrobial resistance rate and patterns of nontyphoid (NTS) in slaughter sheep and their edible offal. While filling the gap of up to date related information in Turkey, data presented is also of significance since contamination of ovine meat, its products and offal with this pathogen is threat to public health due to their considerably high consumption rates in our country. Current NTS carriage in 200 apparently healthy slaughter sheep by ISO 6579:2002, 6579:2002/A1:2007 standard bacteriology (ISO) was 5% (10/200) (4 fecal content - 2%, 3 mesenterial lymph node - 1.

Although activated spastic muscle's force-joint angle relations were studied, this was independent of gait relevant joint positions. The aim was to test the following hypotheses intraoperatively: (i) spastic gracilis passive forces are high even in flexed knee positions, (ii) its active state forces attain high amplitudes within the gait relevant knee angle range, and (iii) increase with added activations of other muscles.

To do so, temporospatial and kinematic gait parameters of ten patients during pre- and postoperative periods were recorded, and forces of the gluteus medius, gluteus maximus, and iliacus muscles were calculated. Three postoperative periods were specified as one week (post-op1), two weeks (post-op2), and three weeks (post-op3) after the surgery.

This study aimed to test the hypothesis that higher periodontal inflamed surface area (PISA) values have positive correlations with increased complete blood parameters in patients with CAD.
Methods: Patients who underwent coronary angiography with a suspicion of CAD between the ages 30 to 75 years were included.
Objectives One of the plausible mechanisms in the relationship between periodontitis and coronary artery disease (CAD) is the systemic inflammatory burden comprised of circulating cytokines/mediators related to periodontitis. This study aims to test the hypothesis that periodontal inflamed surface area (PISA) is correlated with higher circulating levels of acute phase reactants (APR) and pro-inflammatory cytokines/mediators and lower anti-inflammatory cytokines/mediators in CAD patients. Material and Methods Patients aged from 30 to 75 years who underwent coronary angiography with CAD suspicion were included.
