Stress responses in real-world settings are less studied compared to controlled laboratory environments, limiting our understanding of their impact on cognitive performance. This study investigates the relationship between physiological stress signals and academic performance using an open-access dataset of 10 students assessed across three exam sessions (Midterm 1, Midterm 2, and Final Exam). Physiological measures, including electrodermal activity (EDA), heart rate (HR), and skin surface temperature (TEMP), along with exam grades, were analyzed using traditional hypothesis testing, bootstrap method, correlation analysis, and regression tree modeling.

A novel penKid-based estimated glomerular filtration rate equation (eGFR), outperforms current creatinine-based eGFR equations in predicting iohexol or iothalamate plasma clearance-based measured GFR. In this study, we aimed to evaluate the predictive value of penKid and eGFR for all-cause mortality in stable patients at high cardiovascular risk.

Breast cancer is responsible for the majority of cancer-related deaths among women globally. It has been proven that deregulated miRNAs may play an essential role in the progression of breast cancer.

Material And Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted between April 15, 2023 and April 14, 2024 with 596 parents of children aged between 0 and 18 years who had return visits to the pediatric emergency department of a gynaecology and pediatrics hospital in the Western Black Sea Region of Türkiye within 72 h after the first visit. Following the acquisition of written informed consent from the parents, the data were collected using the Descriptive Characteristics of Children and Experiences of Parents Information Form.
Head lice infestation (HLI), caused by De Geer, 1767, has long been a common global problem of school children. Permethrin is an old pyrethroid derivative that has been used commonly for its treatment, and it exerts its activity over the voltage-sensitive calcium channels (VSCC) of the lice. There has been a growing list of persistent HLI cases lately in the world among patients using permethrin, and knockdown resistance (kdr)-related point mutations on VSCC have been identified and reported from those resistant lice samples.

The prevalence of osteoporosis has been increasing as the aging population increases, affecting more than 200 million people worldwide. This study aimed to shed light on the clinical impact of osteoporosis on women's health and quality of life by evaluating the prevalence and risk factors for this disease among postmenopausal women, using a 10-year dataset from a tertiary center.

Methods: The study was designed as a single-center, double-blind, randomized, and sham-controlled trial. Twenty women with FMS were included and randomized into intervention ( = 11) and sham control ( = 9) groups.
Background: In recent years, delayed elective care and growing waiting lists increasingly resulted in postponed surgeries for patients with chronic back and leg pain.
Objective: To develop, implement, and evaluate the feasibility of a triage tool for patients with chronic back and/or leg pain to identify those eligible for referral to spinal cord stimulation (SCS) consultation.
Methods: A triage tool was developed, based on Dutch SCS guidelines, literature review and expert panel consultation.
spp. are ubiquitous, and people are frequently exposed to their spores in the environment and hospital settings. Despite frequent inhalation of the spores, infection is infrequent in humans, except in immunosuppressed hosts.

Objectives: It was aimed to evaluate the clinical efficacy, side effects and topical treatment compliance with bexarotene or clobetasol propionate in early-stage MF.
Methods: A total of 40 patients with stage IA-IB MF were enrolled in the study.

Background And Aims: Insulin resistance is considered the most important key mechanism in the development of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). Some studies have reported that hyperinsulinemia decreases the hepatic secretion of apolipoprotein (Apo) B. Chronic hyperinsulinemia in NAFLD may be responsible for the accumulation of triglycerides in hepatocytes.

Objective: This study was conducted to ensure the Turkish language and content validity of the Standardised Pressure Injury Prevention Protocol (SPIPP- Adult) Checklist 2.0.
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a critical angiogenesis biomarker associated with various pathological conditions, including cancer. This study leverages pre-biotinylated FcγRI interactions with IgG1-type monoclonal antibodies to develop a sensitive VEGF detection method. Utilizing surface plasmon resonance (SPR) technology, we characterized the binding dynamics of immobilized biotinylated FcγRI to an IgG1-type antibody, Bevacizumab (AVT), through kinetic studies and investigated suitable conditions for sensor surface regeneration.

Profilin-1 (PFN1), linked to vascular dysfunction, may serve as a biomarker for diagnosing preeclampsia and predicting adverse neonatal outcomes. The aim of this study was to determine the serum Profilin-1 levels in patients diagnosed with preeclampsia and to investigate its association with disease severity and adverse neonatal outcomes.

Binding propensity has been shown to be modulated by stabilizing the pre-activated state of arrestin through point mutations or C-tail truncation. Here, we hypothesize that pre-activated rotated states can be stabilized by small molecules, and this can promote binding to phosphorylation-deficient receptors, which underly a variety of human disorders.

Background: Hereditary hypophosphatemia (HH), is a rare condition related to decreased renal tubular phosphate reabsorption. Although X-linked hypophosphatemia or PHEX gene variant is the most frequent cause of HH, recent advances in next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques enable the identification of genetic etiologies as a whole.
Objective: To identify genetic causes of HH using various genetic testing methods and to compare clinical features between FGF23-dependent and FGF23-independent HH groups.
Objective: We aimed to identify all evidence to evaluate bone mineral density (BMD) improvement after resolution of endogenous Cushing syndrome (eCS).
Methods: Potentially eligible studies were identified from the EMBASE and PubMed databases from inception to February 2024, utilizing a search strategy incorporating terms related to "Bone mineral density" and "Cushing syndrome". Eligible studies must include patients diagnosed with eCS.
Obstetric brachial plexus injury (OBPI) is an important preventable complication of the birth process. While most cases recover in the early period, a substantial number result in sequelae. Despite established risk factors, there are cases that occur without any apparent risk factors.

Stimulus-specific 'release from adaptation' (RFA) in cortical responses has been used in previous studies to test the predictions of this model. However, these attempts were shown to be prone to confounds of spurious responses such as those to auditory motion and sound onset.

The ECM is typically acquired through the process of decellularizing tissues. Nevertheless, the decellularization process of the brain and spinal cord is challenging due to their high-fat content, in contrast to the spinal meninges.
