Placental elasticity on patients with gestational diabetes: Single institution experience.

Background: Gestational diabetes is defined as glucose intolerance which is first recognized in pregnancy. Oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) is the cornerstone in diagnosing gestational diabetes. Placental elasticity evaluation is relatively new concept and is principally used for research purposes.

First trimester maternal serum PAPP-A levels and associated pregnancy complications in intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy.

Purpose: To investigate first trimester maternal serum pregnancy associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) multiple of the median (MoM) in cases with intrahepatic cholestasis of pregnancy (ICP). Obstetric complications and relation with PAPP-A MoM were also evaluated.

Materials And Methods: This was a retrospective case-control study.

Frequency of Vitamin D deficiency in pregnant diabetics at Baskent University Hospital, Istanbul.

Objective: To find out the frequency of vitamin D deficiency and its relation with glucose parameters and the incidence of gestational diabetes (GDM).

Methodology: Gestational diabetes was diagnosed with 75 gram oral glucose tolerance test. Forty-four pregnant women diagnosed with GDM and 78 non-GDM pregnant women were enrolled as case and control group, respectively in this descriptive study.
