Background: This study aims to identify factors predicting recurrence and unfavorable prognosis in cN+ patients who have undergone sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) following neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC).

Methods: The retrospective multi-centre "MF18-02" and the prospective multi-centre cohort registry trial "MF18-03" (NCT04250129) included patients with cT1-4N1-3M0 with SLNB+/- axillary lymph node dissection (ALND) post-NAC.

Results: A total of 2407 cN+ patients, who later achieved cN0 status after NAC and subsequently underwent SLNB, were studied.

Adjuvant Chemotherapy Duration and Disease-Free Survival in Low-Risk Stage III Colon Cancer with N1a-b and N1c Disease: Insights from a Single-Center Retrospective Analysis.

Background: Tumor deposits (TDs) are known to have a poor prognosis independent of lymph node (LN) involvement and are considered equivalent to LN metastases in the latest staging system. In stage III colon cancer (CC), high-risk patients (pT4 or pN2) receive 6 months of adjuvant chemotherapy, while low-risk patients (pT1-3 and N1) are recommended either 3 or 6 months of CAPOX or 6 months of FOLFOX therapy. However, the optimal chemotherapy duration for low-risk patients classified as pN1c remains unknown.

The comparison of contribution of GO and rGO produced by green synthesis to the properties of CMC-based wound dressing material.

Herein, GO (graphene oxide) or rGO (reduced graphene oxide) which is produced by the green synthesis method using plant extract (Laurus nobilis) was incorporated into a polymeric structure consisting of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) to produce a wound dressing material with enhanced mechanical and electrical properties. The effect of GO and rGO on the wound dressing features of the produced materials was investigated and compared to each other. Conductivity tests demonstrated that rGO contributed more significantly to the electrical conductivity than GO.

Background/aim: To investigate the metabolic response and body mass index reduction according to the remaining stomach volume between 6-12 months after the operation in patients who underwent sleeve gastrectomy surgery for obesity and to determine the relationship between the remaining stomach volume and metabolic improvement. Patients underwent sleeve gastrectomy in a single center by the same team and with the same standardized method. Residual gastric volumes were calculated from three-dimensional computed tomography images obtained 6-12 months postoperatively.

Despite the huge and efficient functionalities of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) for bioengineering applications, the use of harsh chemicals and unfavorable techniques in their production remains a major challenge. Microbial production of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) using specific bacterial strains has gained interest as a sustainable and efficient method. The reduction of GO to RGO by selected bacterial strains was achieved through their enzymatic activities and resulted in the removal of oxygen functional groups from GO, leading to the formation of RGO with enhanced structural integrity.

Relationship Between ABO Blood Group and Microsatellite Instability in Colorectal Cancer: A Retrospective Single-Center Study.

Microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) CRC is a molecular subgroup and has distinct clinical and pathologic features from microsatellite stable (MSS) CRC. Studies have suggested an association between hereditary antigens in ABO blood group system and the risk of developing various cancers but the relationship between blood groups and MSI-H CRC has not been investigated.
