We aimed to assess the relationship between cytokine levels and the severity of the manic period in medication free patients. 30 Medication free patients and 28 healthy subjects (HS) were recruited. Plasma levels of pro-inflammatory, anti-inflammatory, inflammatory cytokines, and hs-CRP levels were investigated upon hospital admission, after six weeks follow up in bipolar disease manic episode and the results were compared to HS.

The study investigated the frequency of functional dyspepsia (FD) in IDA patients and determined its association with depression and somatization.
Design And Settings: The study was conducted at the Hematology Department of Trakya University Medical Faculty, which is a tertiary referral center in northwestern Turkey.
Objectives: The aim of this study was to investigate quantitative cytologic changes in oral mucosal smears collected from kidney transplant patients by modern stereologic methods.
Methods: We enrolled 32 kidney transplant patients. Smears were obtained from the buccal mucosa transplant patients before and 12 months after kidney transplantation.
Objective: Vitamin D is a hormone with a variety of functions, and its deficiency and insufficiency are commonly seen both in the general population and in patients with chronic renal disease. The aim of this study was to compare vitamin D levels in patients with chronic renal disease who are on hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, or no renal replacement therapy and patients who underwent renal transplantation.
Methods: A total of 169 patients who had not used vitamin D for ≥ 1 year and who had no diabetes mellitus or proteinuria were included in the study.
Background: Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a worldwide disorder which is characterized by the presence of systemic low-grade inflammation. There is also acquired immune deficiency in this patient group which is clinically present with increased incidence of severe infections, poor response to vaccination, and increased risk of virus-associated cancers. Renal transplantation is one of the renal replacement modalities that restore renal functions.

Kidney transplantation is the preferred method for renal replacement owing to better survival. There are reports of irreversibly damaged immune system in dialysis patients, which did not return to normal even after kidney transplantation.

The present study aimed to investigate the effect of kidney transplant on smoking habits of kidney donors.
Method: The study included 98 donors in total (54 female, 44 male).
Objective: The resistance of blood to flow is called plasma viscosity. Increased blood viscosity has been described in patients with coronary and peripheral arterial disease. In this study, we evaluated the influence of clinical and laboratory findings on plasma viscosity in renal transplant recipients.

Root canals of freshly-extracted single-rooted teeth (n = 80) were instrumented by using rotary instruments. The specimens were randomly divided into 4 groups according to the chelating solutions being tested: (1) 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA); (2) 9% etidronic acid; (3) 1% peracetic acid (PAA); and (4) distilled water (control).

Materials And Methods: Seven units of platelet concentrates were obtained by apheresis.
Background: In this study, we determined the frequency of migraine headache in iron-deficiency anemia (IDA) patients and whether it was related to anxiety, depression, and somatization.
Methods: We included 127 consecutive IDA patients into the study. All patients were asked validated questions about headache and migraine face-to-face.
Joubert syndrome (JS) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder. To date, mutations in 20 genes of the genetically heterogeneous JS and JS-related disorders (JSRD) have been reported. Renal involvement occurs in 2-20% of JS cases.

In the recently published article by Zajdenverg et al., they aimed to identify endothelial dysfunction and cardiovascular risk factors in women with previous gestational diabetes mellitus.

However, assessing all parameters affecting the RDW, determining the optimum RDW cut-off value for predicting the prognosis of coronary artery disease (CAD), excluding metabolic comorbidities affecting the RDW values and identifying the specific range for the WBC count within the exclusion criteria would provide more reliable results and improve the credibility of the entire article in this study population.

Effect of two different chelating agents on the removal has also been studied by using EDTA (ethylenediaminetetracetic acid) and TA (tannic acid). Both EDTA and TA have led to higher heavy metal concentration in shoots and leaves compared to control plants.
