Objective: We aimed to discuss our experience of a higher incidence of catheter-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs) during the needle-free connector (NFC) and single-use prefilled flushing syringe (PFS) shortage.
Materials And Methods: Retrospective analyses were carried out to investigate the CLABSI rates at a tertiary training hospital from January 1, 2023, to December 31, 2023, and the study period included a three-month shortage of NFCs and PFSs in April and June 2023.
Results: The CLABSI rate for the three months was 5.
Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of a short-term (30 minutes) vocal loading task (VLT) on the objective and subjective parameters of voice and determine the restorative strategies of three different vocal exercises performed after the VLT.
Methods: The sample of the study included 30 normophonic women. The protocols that were applied in the study were carried out on three consecutive days.
Background: Epworth Sleepiness Scale(ESS) is widely used in the assessment of excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) despite certain deficiencies. It was aimed to evaluate the factors associated with low ESS scores in subjects investigated for OSA.
Methods: In this cross sectional study, we recorded the ESS and Pittsburg sleep quality index (PSQI) scores of patients undergoing polysomnography in our sleep center between November 2022-January 2023.
Halitosis is defined as an unpleasant odor emanating from the oral cavity and has social and economic effects. Halitosis is a common complaint in individuals with periodontal disease, but limited data are available. The aim of this study is to evaluate self-reported halitosis and related conditions.

Malnutrition and increased inflammation predict poor disease prognosis. The parameters of the Naples prognostic score (NPS) include albumin, total cholesterol, neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), and lymphocyte-monocyte ratio (LMR).

Objectives: We aimed to investigate the presence of oxidative stress in patients with localized scleroderma by examining thiol-disulfide balance, ischemia-modified albumin (IMA), and prolidase parameters.
Objective: Prior qualitative studies show that individuals with psychoticlike experiences express difficulties concerning their identity. However, previous work has studied individuals at clinical high risk for psychosis (CHR) and individuals with first-episode psychosis (FEP) separately. Here, we compare the experiences of individuals at CHR, individuals with FEP, and healthy individuals.

We report studies showing that isolated forms of all human KDM4 and KDM5 JmjC enzymes catalyse demethylation of N-methylated Arg-3 of histone H2a. Unexpectedly, the results reveal that KDM4E and, less efficiently, KDM4D catalyse C-4 hydroxylation of Arg-20 of H2a on peptides, recombinant H2a, and calf histone extracts, including when the Arg-20 guanidino group is N-methylated.

In this editorial, I address the mental health status of patients who have been discharged from intensive care units (ICUs) after battling coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). An ICU admission is generally a stressful experience, and for severe COVID-19 survivors prolonged treatment in the ICU can lead to significant psychological consequences. These individuals may experience psychiatric distress, including symptoms such as insomnia, anxiety, depression, and even post-traumatic psychological issues.

: The increase in fungal infections, both systemic and invasive, is a major source of morbidity and mortality, particularly among immunocompromised people such as cancer patients and organ transplant recipients. Because of their strong therapeutic activity and excellent safety profiles, azole antifungals are currently the most extensively used systemic antifungal drugs. Antibacterial properties of various topical antifungals, such as oxiconazole, which features oxime ether functionality, were discovered, indicating an exciting prospect in antimicrobial chemotherapy.

Patients And Methods: This validation study was conducted between June 2018 and December 2021. Patients with axSpA were consecutively assessed regarding physical (age, sex and body mass index) and disease-related characteristics (disease activity, spinal mobility, functional status, quality of life, health status, emotional status, and kinesiophobia).
Background: In this report, we present the case of a 19-month-old female diagnosed with hijab pin aspiration after a week of persistent coughing, along with a meta analysis and systematic review of the relevant literature.
Materials And Methods: A comprehensive search was conducted across multiple databases, including Ovid Medline, Cochrane, PubMed, Web of Science, and SCOPUS, yielding 182 records until August 2024. A total of 7 published study and our case included to final analysis.
The cultivation of alfalfa is crucial for farmers as it is an excellent forage crop with a high nitrogen-fixing capacity, making it indispensable in crop rotations. Breeding programs face challenges in advancing more rapidly in genetic diversity to achieve a higher heterosis effect and, consequently, greater yield. In this study, we used 30 alfalfa varieties, which were used for molecular analyses by 5 ISSR primers and 13 RAPD primers.

An investigation into the incorporation of Fe-based nanofillers for optimizing the polyacrylonitrile matrix was conducted, where the systematic and organized arrangement of inorganic components was achieved through non-covalent bonding. These carefully dispersed nanomaterials exhibit the intrinsic electronic characteristics of the polymers and concurrently respond to external magnetic fields.

Peripheral nerve injuries are potentially devastating injuries leading to pain and impairment in motor and sensory functions. Since the first published use of microsurgical epineural repair of peripheral nerves in 1964, a wide variety of adjuncts have been studied. Polyethylene glycol is a fusogen that has been shown to restore axolemmal membranes.

Dual-phase reinforcing approach provides a novel and efficient strategy for the fabrication of advanced aluminum matrix composites (AMCs). The devisable and desirable performance could be achieved by tuning dual-phase reinforcing system. However, it is still challenging to design a dual-phase reinforcing system with synergistic strengthening effect, especially for the laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) characterized by nonequilibrium metallurgical process.

Untreated ECC results in recurrent odontogenic infections and local and systemic consequences. In this study, our goal is to assess the relationship between the intensity of odontogenic infection-associated periapical periodontitis and new generation of systemic inflammatory markers (SII, NLR, PLR) in ECC-affected children.
