Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a complex endocrine disorder that affects women of reproductive age and is characterized by hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction and polycystic ovarian morphology. PCOS is often associated with hormonal imbalances, metabolic dysfunction and comorbid psychiatric disorders, including eating disorders (EDs). The review identifies key hormonal factors-serotonin, leptin, insulin, ghrelin, kisspeptin and cortisol-and their roles in the pathophysiology of PCOS and associated psychiatric symptoms.

Background: Previous studies have demonstrated that people with nonfluent aphasia (PWNA) improve their language production after repeating personalized scripts, modeled by speech-language pathologists (SLPs). If PWNA could improve by using their own self-feedback, relying less on external feedback, barriers to aphasia treatment, such as a dearth of clinicians and mobility issues, can be overcome. Precisely measuring pressure in microfluidic flows is essential for flow control, fluid characterization, and monitoring, but faces specific challenges such as achieving sufficient resolution, non-invasiveness, or ease of use. Here, we demonstrate a fully integrated multiplexed optofluidic pressure sensor, entirely decoupled from the flow path, that enables local pressure measurements along any microfluidic channel without altering its flow geometry. This work presents the effect of surface roughness (Al 7075) on the microstructure and mechanical properties of cold-sprayed nickel coatings. Coating analysis included substrate surfaces and coating geometry, microstructure characterization, microhardness, nanohardness, elastic modulus, and adhesion. The results show that the surface preparation had a significant effect on coating adhesion and microstructure.
