Ultrahigh resolution mass spectrometry (UHR-MS) coupled with direct infusion (DI) electrospray ionization offers a fast solution for accurate untargeted profiling. Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance (FT-ICR) mass spectrometers have been shown to produce a wealth of insights into complex chemical systems because they enable unambiguous molecular formula assignment even if the vast majority of signals is of unknown identity. Interlaboratory comparisons are required to apply this type of instrumentation in quality control (for food industry or pharmaceuticals), large-scale environmental studies, or clinical diagnostics.

Objective: Recommendations for the management of major fractures in institutionalized patients over 75 years old were updated by the GRIO (French group for research and information on osteoporosis) in 2012 and in 2018. This study is an evaluation of practices in osteoporosis management in institutionalized old patients.
Methods: Evaluation of diagnostic and therapeutic management in medical observations of all residents over 75 years old with a history of major fracture in 4 nursing homes.
Dissolved organic matter (DOM) plays a crucial role in terrestrial and aquatic carbon and biogeochemical cycles; however, molecular transformations between aquatic and terrestrial systems remain poorly understood due to the complexity and heterogeneity of DOM. In this study, we investigated the molecular diversity of aquatic DOM and adjacent soil derived water extractable organic matter (WEOM) from seven locations on Akimiski Island, Nunavut using a combination of absorbance spectroscopy and Fourier transform ion cyclotron mass spectrometry (FT-ICR-MS). Assigned elemental formula and Van Krevelen compositional analysis reveal compositional similarities in river, inland ponds and coastal pool sites for aquatic DOM and WEOM.

The effects of SENS-111, a selective oral H receptor antagonist with high affinity to both animal and human receptors, on vertigo symptoms was evaluated in a translational in vivo model of unilateral vestibular loss.
Experimental Approach: Pharmacokinetics of SENS-111 in rats was determined to aid dose selection for efficacy testing.
H11 kinase/Hsp22 (Hsp22) is a small heat shock protein, which, when overexpressed cardiac specifically in transgenic (TG) mice, induces stable left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy.
