Pharmacogenetics (PGx) aims to optimize drug treatment outcomes by using a patient's genetic profile for individualized drug and dose selection. Currently, reactive and pretherapeutic single-gene PGx tests are increasingly applied in clinical practice in several countries and institutions. With over 95% of the population carrying at least one actionable PGx variant, and with drugs impacted by these genetic variants being in common use, pretherapeutic or preemptive PGx panel testing appears to be an attractive option for better-informed drug prescribing.

Eculizumab is an orphan drug with indications for extremely rare autoimmune disorders. Objectives: (I) To investigate the status of SABA overuse and medication dispensing patters in asthma in the Netherlands (II) validate dispensing data for SABA overuse identification and (III) understand patients' perspectives towards this SABA-taking behavior to inform future improvement strategies.
Background: The antibody-drug conjugate sacituzumab govitecan is approved for metastatic triple-negative breast cancer and has shown promising results in various other types of cancer. Its costs may limit patient access to this novel effective treatment modality.

Capecitabine is an anticancer agent and is the oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). In this study, an ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled to turbo ion spray tandem mass spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method was developed and validated to quantify capecitabine and its metabolites including 5'-deoxy-5-fluorocytidine (5'-dFCR), 5'-deoxy-5-fluorouridine (5'-dFUR), 5-FU, and fluoro-β-alanine (FBAL) in lithium heparinized human plasma. Analytes were extracted by protein precipitation, chromatographically separated by Acquity UPLC HSS T3 column with gradient elution, and analyzed with a tandem mass spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ionization source.
