Objective: The aim: Study of the functional morphology of placenta in a sedentary lifestyle of a woman during pregnancy.

Patients And Methods: Materials and methods: Object of the study: placentas obtained as a result of deliveries at term from women, urban residents, aged 20-40 years old, leading a sedentary lifestyle, and patients with a sufficiently high level of physical activity, the criteria of which corresponded to WHO recommendations. Immunohistochemical and morphometric studies of the placentas were carried out, followed by statistical analysis.

We examined the histological features of the mucobuccal fold of oral cavity mucous membrane from the area of the masticatory teeth roots' projection in 6-month-old Wistar Albino Glaxo rats with fetal macrosomia. The animals were divided into groups according to the body weight, the body length, and the Quetelet index at birth. A morphological study was performed using the Leica SP8 AOBS laser scanning confocal microscope and a conventional light (Axiostar, Zeiss) microscopy.

On the old (18-20 months) male rats of Wistar population the influence of the 10 days evening melatonin injections in physiological rang doses on morphological state pineal gland, was studied. It has been shown, that the course of melatonin injections to old rats brings appearance of histological pattern of pineal gland activation: increasing of area of pinealocytes nuclear and density of nuclear and cytoplasm with stein by hallocyanine on total nucleic acid that means stimulation to material both indole, and peptide nature production. Using of melatonin in dose 0.

On sexually matured male rabbits of Shinhilla breed kept in round-the-clock illumination within 5 months, dynamic of changes of structure of pineal gland was investigated. It was found the gradual, progressing in time loss of pinealocytes amount, arising due to their apoptosis, which points out hypolinealism development. Round-the-clock illumination should be considered as the factor promoting accelerated aging of pineal gland.

The effects of stress induced by hypothermia (+4 degrees C for 3 h) on the pathways of serotonin metabolism in the pineal gland and on its structure were studied in adult male Wistar rats. These experiments showed that the melatonin-forming function of the epiphysis undergoes phasic changes during adaptation: there was a significant increase during the first 15 min, which was followed by gradual inhibition (to initial by 30 min) and then sharp suppression (at 3 h). Suppression of the functional activity of the pineal gland occurred because of exclusion of a proportion of pinealocytes from the process of active functioning.

The influence of hypothermal stress (+4 degrees during 3 h) on the ways of serotonin metabolism in pineal gland and its structure has been studied in dynamics on adult male Wistar rats. It has been revealed that melatonin-producing epiphyseal function suffers from phase changes in dynamics of adaptation--significant rising during 15 min. after beginning of the experiment, rehabilitation up to normal--in 30 min, and fast suppressing--in 3 hrs.

The literature data are presented on body weight and height changes in different population groups. Somatometria (particularly that of growing body allows one to determine the effect of each individual factor. Constitutional predisposition to certain diseases is conditioned by "the somatotype endocrinologic formula".

Thyroid glands were examined in newborn rats born in different seasons. Histological, histochemical, and cytophotometrical methods were used. It was demonstrated that winter newborns show the minimum development of the thyroid gland and summer newborns show the maximum one.

In the experiment on 18 mongrel dogs it was demonstrated that in exclusion of the blood of the splenic vein from portal circulation early after splenorenal shunting, the impairment in morphofunctional state of the liver, kidneys and spleen is noted. One month after the operation, incomplete reparation in the liver and left kidney, and complete reparation in the right kidney and spleen was noted.

Perinatal pathology may become the cause of diseases in children and adults. Cardiovascular system of the foetus and placental vessels are examined in the toxicosis of the pregnancy, hypertension of pregnant mothers, immunological system and sex glands in large foetus, thyroid and sex glands of newborns. It is suggested that early atherosclerosis, myocardiopathy, sexual disturbances, endocrinopathy, immunodeficient states are consequences of pathological or "prepathological" development of certain organs and systems of the foetus.

A controlled clinicomorphological study of 170 big fetuses versus 70 medium body mass fetuses (controls) was performed with a special emphasis on the endocrine regulation in the functional system mother-placenta-fetus. Clinically, there was no evidence of mother's endocrine system pathology, though morphological studies (histological, histochemical, morphometric, immunofluorescent) revealed significant morphofunctional peculiarities of adenohypophysis, epiphysis, thyroid gland, adrenal cortex, endocrine apparatus of the pancreas and placenta in big fetuses in comparison with those in medium body mass fetuses.
