A study is presented of 403 patients with chronic diseases of the stomach and biliary tract. It was established that these patients showed disorders of the electrolytic and micro-element composition of the gastric juice and bile depending on the functional state of the stomach and liver.

View Article and Find Full Text PDFPancreatic secretion was studied using a fractionated-kinetic technic in 32 gastric cancer patients prior to surgery and in 106 patients following partial gastrectomy within the period of 2 weeks, 1 year, from 1 to 3 years longer. The immediate postoperative period showed the greatest changes in the exocrinous function of the pancreas. An improved exocrine function during a period over 3 years after gastrectomy indicates the pancreas taking part in the compensatory-adaptation process after the operation.
