Background: Italy was the first country to largely experience the COVID-19 epidemic among other Western countries during the so-called first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. Proper management of an increasing number of home-quarantined individuals created a significant challenge for health care authorities and professionals. This was especially true when considering the importance of remote surveillance to detect signs of disease progression and consequently regulate access to hospitals and intensive care units on a priority basis.

The biodiversity of the Amazon region has been threatened by increased agricultural production and pesticide use. Considering that monitoring pesticides in environments close to their application is one of the ways to preserve the ecosystem, this study investigated the levels of pesticide residues in different environmental compartments (soil, sediment, and water samples).

Considering the increase in agricultural production in Tocantins and in the use of pesticides for such production, this work investigates the levels of pesticide residues in different environmental compartments (soil, sediment, and water samples) of the Formoso River in the state of Tocantins, Brazil. The presence of pesticides of the triazine, triazole, and benzimidazole classes was analyzed by UHPLC-MS/MS from April 2018 to February 2019. There were four quarterly collections in the dry and rainy periods.

The collections were made on the banks of this river, in the area of influence of the agricultural project. The active principles were not found in the soil and sediment samples, only the propoxur principle was found in the water, reaching values of up to 0.

In this work, filamentous fungi isolated from leaves decomposed in an aquatic environment were screened for lipase production with hydrolytic activity and esterification. Agar plates with Tween 20 and Rhodamine B were used for selection, while submerged cultures with olive oil were subsequently used to select 38 filamentous fungi.

Its analytical performance satisfactorily compared to a perfluorinated chloroformate previously described, namely 2,2,3,3,4,4,5,5-octafluoropentyl chloroformate (OFPCF). The chemical properties (reactivity, selectivity, derivatization products, and their chromatographic and spectral features) for ClOFPCF were investigated using a set of 39 highly polar standard analytes, including, among others, hydroxylamine, malic and succinic acids, resorcinol, hydroxybenzaldehyde, and dihydroxybenzoic acid.

By elimination of sources of external contamination, mainly due to atmospheric gases, the analysis of the contributions to the absorption related to the backbone structure and to the chain end composition allowed the synthesis of a novel family of linear perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs) with optical absorbance at 157 nm between 0.3 and 0.

Symptomatology is described and the former are indicated as being electively medical and the latter surgical forms whether the condition is congenital or acquired. The various forms of cholecystosis are also distinguished with full documentation.
