Background: Currently, several studies have explored the association between the modified creatinine index (mCI) and prognosis in patients on hemodialysis (HD). However, some of their results are contradictory. Therefore, this study was conducted to comprehensively assess the role of mCI in predicting prognosis in HD patients through meta-analysis.

We evaluated the long-term outcomes of patients with superficial ESCC after ESD and the risk factors of TB for the long-term prognosis.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective study in a Chinese hospital.
M2 macrophages were related to local immune homeostasis and maternal-fetal tolerance in normal pregnancy; whether M2 macrophages can respond to the stimulation of to mediate placental vascular inflammation injury is unclear. In this study, M2 macrophages were constructed to investigate the impact of on macrophage polarization and the underlying signaling pathway involved in this process, and the influence of macrophage polarization triggered by on the apoptosis and angiogenesis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVEC) was also explored. The results showed that M2 macrophage markers (CD206 and PPARγ) and anti-inflammatory factors (TGFβ and CCL18) were decreased, while M1 macrophage marker CD80 and inflammatory cytokines (IL1β and TNFα) were increased when M2 macrophages were treated with , indicating that promoted the polarization of M2 subtype macrophages to the M1 subtype.

Therefore, developing low-cost and highly efficacious wound-healing materials is essential. In this study, we prepared keratin-hyperbranched polymer hydrogel-M (KHBP-M), a multifunctional composite gel, by mixing reduced keratin containing free sulfhydryl groups extracted from human hair waste, hyperbranched polymer (HBP) with double bonds at the end, and MnO nanoparticles prepared using the biological template method.

Background: In this study, we used real-time quantitative PCR (RQ-PCR) to rapidly detect and in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) samples, targeting 18SrRNA gene and 28SrRNA gene. Identification of and was analysed by combining RQ-PCR (18SrRNA and 28SrRNA) with RQ-PCR (18SrRNA and 28SrRNA).
Objectives: The aims of this study were to compare the diagnostic performances of four RQ-PCR assays as single and combined diagnostic and identification tools.
Purpose: This retrospective study aimed to investigate F-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-FDG)-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) as a predictor of response to hypofractionated radiotherapy (HFRT) combined with programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) blockade for lung cancer.
Methods: We included 41 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) in this study. PET/CT was performed before (SCAN-0) and one month (SCAN-1), three months (SCAN-2), and six months (SCAN-3) after treatment.
Background: Intrapapillary capillary loop (IPCL) is an important factor for predicting invasion depth of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC). The invasion depth is closely related to the selection of treatment strategy. However, diagnosis of IPCLs is complicated and subject to interobserver variability.

Few data are currently available for people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWH) with virological failure of antiretroviral therapy (ART). Estimating the HIV-1 drug-resistant spread influencing factors and transmission patterns of the HIV-1 epidemic of PLWH with ART virological failure are critical in Sichuan.

Method: We conducted a comprehensive literature review comparing outcomes of IVF with or without PGT-A in women of AMA in PubMed, Embase, and the Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials in January 2021.
Background: Aspergillus infection is more common among premature infants in neonatal intensive care units, who have decreased qualitative immune defenses and need various invasive treatment procedures. It is rare in normal full-term neonates, especially in newborn babies from the community. Moreover, the white blood cell (WBC) count and C-reactive protein (CRP) level may be normal or slightly changed in fungal infections, but the neonate reported in this study had significant increases in WBC and CRP.

The nebulization of IFN α1b could be a viable treatment method. In this study, the therapeutic effects and safety of IFN α1b delivery via nebulization in infant bronchiolitis were investigated in this multi-center prospective study.

Based on conducting phylogenetic trees and molecular transmission networks, a phylogenetic analysis was performed on HIV-1 pol sequences obtained from 211 migrant-history workers, 83 non-migrant-history individuals, and 21 migrant-history unknown individuals between January, 2012 and February, 2017 in Guangyuan city. Phylogenetic analysis revealed that CRF07_BC (48.

It is generally believed that the interaction between different infectious agents plays an important role in regard to respiratory diseases. Therefore, we used high-throughput sequencing combined with viral metagenomics to characterise the viral community of tonsil samples from pigs coming from a conventional herd with lesions in the respiratory tract at slaughter.

PCV3 was discovered for the first time in the US in 2016. After this initial discovery, PCV3 was detected in other parts of the world such as in China, South Korea, Italy and Poland.

In this study, we screened single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the chicken GnIH gene among 204 individuals in Erlang mountainous chickens. We then analyzed the associations between polymorphisms of the GnIH gene and 5 egg production traits in chickens.
