Background: Nanocarrier systems have been used in the study of esophageal cancer (EC) and other diseases, with significant advantages in improving the non-targeted and nonspecific toxicity of traditional formulations. Some chemotherapeutic drugs and high atomic number nanomaterials have sensitization effects on ionizing radiation and can be used as chemoradiation sensitizers.
Methods: Aurum (Au) nanoparticles were modified by bovine serum albumin (BSA) and folic acid (FA), and were core-loaded with paclitaxel (PTX) and curcumin (CUR).

The PAIN-CONTRoLS trial compared four medications in treating Cryptogenic sensory polyneuropathy. The primary outcome was a utility function that combined two outcomes, patients' pain score reduction and patients' quit rate. However, additional analysis of the individual outcomes could also be leveraged to inform selecting an optimal medication for future patients.

Methods: The research object was a retrospective analysis of 86 patients with non-small-cell lung cancer who were admitted to our hospital from 1 January 2019 to 31 December 2021. The patients were divided into two groups.
Background: Platform trials are well-known for their ability to investigate multiple arms on heterogeneous patient populations and their flexibility to add/drop treatment arms due to efficacy/lack of efficacy. Because of their complexity, it is important to develop highly optimized, transparent, and rigorous designs that are cost-efficient, offer high statistical power, maximize patient benefit, and are robust to changes over time.
Methods: To address these needs, we present a Bayesian platform trial design based on a beta-binomial model for binary outcomes that uses three key strategies: (1) hierarchical modeling of subgroups within treatment arms that allows for borrowing of information across subgroups, (2) utilization of response-adaptive randomization (RAR) schemes that seek a tradeoff between statistical power and patient benefit, and (3) adjustment for potential drift over time.
Outcomes following administration of very-low-dose recombinant activated factor VIIa (vld-rFVIIa) for cardiac surgical bleeding remain debatable. We sought to determine the association of vld-rFVIIa and adverse surgical outcomes. Retrospective, cohort matching of patients undergoing cardiac surgery who received vld-rFVIIa (median 13.

Methods: The qRT-PCR or Western blot was performed to determine the expressions of miR-504 and RBM4 in the gastric cancer tissues and normal tissues. Human SGC-7901 cells were transfected with miR-504 mimic/inhibitor or pcDNA-RBM4.
Objective: This research was designed to probe into the influencing factors of holistic nursing intervention under a social medical model on psychology and quality of life in advanced gastric cancer (GC) patients.
Methods: Altogether 194 patients with advanced GC treated in our hospital from May 2017 to July 2018 were divided into two groups according to different nursing intervention methods. Where from, 86 were given routine nursing intervention and 108 were given holistic nursing intervention under a social medical model.
Clostridioides difficile infection (CDI) is a major cause of infectious diarrhea among allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) recipients. The relationship between CDI and acute graft-versus-host disease (aGVHD) has been a topic of interest, as these 2 conditions may influence each other. We studied the temporal relationship of CDI to aGVHD in the first 100 days post-transplantation in a large cohort of allo-HSCT recipients.

Our study was performed with the aim to explore the functional effects of miR-34a and its predictive target programmed death ligand 1 (PDL1) in gastric cancer development.

Naringin has an inhibitory effect on the PI3k/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway in various tumor cell types and the effect of naringin is closely related to the occurrence and proliferation of tumor cells. The aim of this present study was to investigate whether naringin could inhibit the proliferation of CRC cells by inhibiting the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway.

Ginsenoside Rh2 (G-Rh2), the main bioactive metabolite of ginseng, is known to possess the ability to potently induce cell apoptosis, inhibit cell proliferation and reverse multidrug resistance in a variety of cancer cells. The present study examined the effect of G-Rh2 on oxaliplatin (L-OHP)-resistant colon cancer cells and its potential mechanism.

Although overexpression of CD155 has been detected in many types of human cancer cells, it is not completely understood about its expression and function in BC and its prognostic significance. In the present study, we detected the expression level of CD155 in 216 cases of BC by immunohistochemistry (IHC), and we evaluated its relationship with BC patients' clinical information.

Nevertheless, it remains unclear whether primary tumor location affects patients' options for potentially curative resection.
Methods: PubMed, the Cochrane Library, Embase, ASCO, and ESMO conference abstracts were searched.
Gambogic acid (GA) has been reported to inhibit cancer cell proliferation and migration and enhance apoptosis. Several signaling pathways were identified to be involved in GA function, including PI3K/Akt, caspase-3 apoptosis and TNF-α/NF-κB. However, to the best of our knowledge, the association between miRNA and GA has not been explored.

This meta-analysis aims to estimate the effect of adding panitumumab or cetuximab to oxaliplatin-based chemotherapy in RAS wild type mCRC patients for the first-line treatment. The primary tumor location is also considered into this meta-analysis.
