Cartilage injury is common in orthopedics and cartilage tissue engineering provides a therapeutic direction for cartilage regeneration. Albumin (ALB)-platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) is speculated to be an ideal natural scaffold material for cartilage tissue engineering theoretically as a product derived from human venous blood. Through and experiments, it was demonstrated that ALB-PRF displayed porous structure and slowly released growth factors (TGF-β1, PDGF-AA, PDGF-AB, PDGF-BB, EGF, IGF-1 and VEGF), ALB-PRF conditioned media promoted proliferation, migration, adhesion, phenotype maintenance and extracellular matrix secretion of rabbit chondrocytes.

Hernandonine is a natural alkaloid derived from Hernandia nymphaeifolia that has been shown to exert various biological functions. In a previous study, hernandonine was shown to suppress the proliferation of several solid tumor cell lines without affecting normal human cell lines.

Energy reprogramming is one of the hallmarks of cancer, and emerging evidence showed that targeting glycolysis is a promising strategy for HCC treatment. Cryptocaryone has been shown to display promising anti-cancer activity against numerous types of cancer.

In this study, Chaetoglobosin A (ChA), an endophytic fungal metabolite from the medicinal herb-derived fungus Chaetomium globosum Km1126, was identified as a potent and selective antitumor agent in human CRC. ChA induced growth inhibition of CRC cells in a concentration-dependent manner but did not impair the viability of normal colon cells.

A spatial element model is established, which can show the state of the nodes between joint surfaces when they are stretched, compressed, or twisted; and it can help build a woodworking CNC machining center on a finite element model of bed with the characteristics of the joint surface. The simulated analysis is performed on the model and is compared with the result of simulated analysis on the bed model that ignores the characteristics of the joint surface and modal experiment.

Physical fitness and body mass index (BMI) are very important factors for healthy development, whereas few studies focus on the relationship between them in this region. This study aimed to explore the relationship between physical fitness and BMI of children and adolescents aged 7 to 18 in Xinjiang.

PARP1 hyper-activation stimulates apoptosis-inducing factor (AIF) nucleus translocation, and accelerates nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and adenosine triphosphate (ATP) depletion, leading to DNA fragmentation. The mechanisms of parthanatos mainly include DNA damage, PARP1 hyper-activation, PAR accumulation, NAD and ATP depletion, and AIF nucleus translocation.

Four independent variables were studied: microwave power, extraction time, solvent-to-solid ratio, and concentration of ethanol, with optimal settings of 1200 W, 12 min, 38, and 86 %, respectively. The SMPs were successively purified by DEAE Sepharose Fast Flow and Sephadex G-100 chromatography to produce a novel polysaccharide termed SMP1.

There is a sizeable interest in seeking chemical components for the regulation of ferroptosis and parthanatos. Hydroxysafflor yellow A (HSYA) and anhydrosafflor yellow B (AHSYB) mitigated cell death caused by oxidative stress due to antioxidant capacity, yet the mechanism is still uncertain.

Climate change has become a great challenge for humanity. However, the current climate change mitigation measures, primarily concentrate on land, more or less neglecting the vital role of the ocean-based solutions. While the ocean is a crucial regulator of the global climate, ocean-based solutions could also play an essential role in climate change mitigation and policymaking.

Wearable technologies that store, monitor and analyse a range of biosignals are an area of significant growth and interest for both industry and academia. The rate of data generation in these devices poses a considerable challenge with regards to the bandwidths of wireless transmission protocols, local storage capacities and the on-board power consumption requirements. This issue is particularly acute for frequency-rich biosignals containing significant higher frequency components that are un-served by conventional compression techniques.

Phonocardiography is a widely used method of listening to the heart sounds and indicating the presence of cardiac abnormalities. Each heart cycle consists of two major sounds - S1 and S2 - that can be used to determine the heart rate. The conventional method of acoustic signal acquisition involves placing the sound sensor at the chest where this sound is most audible.
