Infrared absorption provides the intrinsic vibrational information on chemical bonds, which is important for identifying molecular moieties. To enhance the sensitivity of infrared absorption, plasmonic antennas have been widely used to localize and concentrate mid-infrared light into nanometer-scale hotspots at desired wavelengths. Here, instead of inorganic plasmonic antennas, we have demonstrated surface-enhanced infrared absorption (SEIRA) using single plasmonic antennas based on a conducting polymer.

Fortunately, the revolving A-site presents an opportunity to strengthen this interaction by utilizing an external field. Herein, we propose a novel approach to achieving an ordered magnetic dipole moment, which is regulated by a magnetic field via the coupling effect between the chiral passivation molecule and the A-site (formamidine ion) in perovskites.

However, achieving room-temperature ultrafast on-chip electrical modulation of excitonic distribution and flow in monolayer semiconductors is nontrivial. Here, utilizing lateral bias, we report high-speed electrical modulation of the excitonic distribution in a monolayer semiconductor junction at room temperature.

For light sources, besides the emission intensity and spectral profile, the degree of polarization (DoP) is an essential parameter. Here, by embedding a monolayer of QDs inside the nanogap between a bottom Au mirror and a top Ag nanowire, we have demonstrated highly polarized light emission from the QDs with an average DoP of 0.

Two-dimensional semiconducting transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs) have attracted extensive attention as building blocks of miniaturized electronic and optical devices. However, as the characteristics of TMDC devices are predominately determined by their device structures, the function of TMDC devices is fixed once fabricated, leaving the reconfigurable active device and circuit a challenge. Here, we have demonstrated the current rectification switching in TMDC vertical diodes using a liquid metal (EGaIn) top electrode with a reconfigurable contact area.

Particularly, the passivation of surface defects has made great contributions to high-performance perovskite photovoltaics. This highlights the importance of understanding the surface defects from a fundamental level by developing more accurate and operando characterization techniques.

In the realm of ultracompact VSC, there is a need to scale down the size of mid-infrared optical resonators and to elevate their optical field strength. Herein, by using single quartz micropillars as mid-infrared optical resonators, the strong coupling is demonstrated between surface phonon polariton (SPhP) resonances and molecular vibrations from far-field observation.
