Systemic contact dermatitis in a family: Case report.

Background: Systemic contact dermatitis (SCD) is an allergic inflammatory skin disease. We report that 3 family members developed SCD after exposing to laundry detergent containing benzalkonium chloride, which is rare. SCD caused by benzalkonium chloride has been reported.

Preparation and microwave absorption performance of a flexible FeO/nanocarbon hybrid buckypaper and its application in composite materials.

Graphene oxide (GO) and carbon nanotubes are promising microwave-absorbing materials. Herein, ferroferric oxide (FeO)/multiwall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) and FeO/GO hybrid buckypapers with excellent flexibility and manoeuvrability were coated on the surface of an epoxy substrate to fabricate microwave-absorbing composites. FeO/GO buckypapers show a unique layered structure that differs from the complex network structure of FeO/MWCNT buckypapers.

Purification and characterization of alkaline phosphatase from lactic acid bacteria.

Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) excreted from lactic acid bacteria (LAB) showed the ability to degrade organophosphorus pesticides. This study reported the first purification and characterization of ALP from LAB. The molecular weight of ALP was estimated to be 43 kDa measured by SDS-PAGE.

Design and evaluation of a novel floating osmotic pump system.

Purpose: Find a novel delivery system for oral administration of drugs that have absorption window in the upper part of gastrointestinal (GI) track.

Methods: Dipyridamole was chosen as the model drug. A novel system, which combined the osmotic pump controlled release system and the floating system, was designed; matrix tablets (MT) were prepared for compares.
