The low-temperature-grown InGaAs (LT-InGaAs) photoconductive antenna has received great attention for the development of highly compact and integrated cheap THz sources. However, the performance of the LT-InGaAs photoconductive antenna is limited by its low resistivity and mobility. The generated radiated power is much weaker compared to the low-temperature-grown GaAs-based photoconductive antennas.

Magnesium slag-based porous materials (MSBPM) were successfully synthesized using alkali activation and foaming methods as an effective adsorbent for Pb in solution. The effects of foaming agent type, foaming agent dosage, alkali dosage, and water glass modulus on the properties of the MSBPM were studied, and the micromorphology and porosity of the MSBPM were observed using microscopy. The influence of pH value, initial concentration, and adsorbent dosage on the Pb adsorption was investigated.

In recent years, two-dimensional (2D) halide perovskites have been widely used in solar cells and photoelectric devices due to their excellent photoelectric properties and high environmental stability. However, the terahertz (THz) and ultrafast responses of the 2D halide perovskites are seldom studied, limiting the developments and applications of tunable terahertz devices based on 2D perovskites. Here, 2D R-P type (PEA)(MA)PbI perovskite films are fabricated on quartz substrates by a one-step spin-coating process to study their THz and ultrafast characteristics.

Currently, metasurfaces (MSs) integrating with different active materials have been widely explored to actively manipulate the resonance intensity of multi-band electromagnetic induced transparency (EIT) windows. Unfortunately, these hybrid MSs can only realize the global control of multi-EIT windows rather than selective control. Here, a graphene-functionalized complementary terahertz MS, composed of a dipole slot and two graphene-integrated quadrupole slots with different sizes, is proposed to execute selective and active control of dual-band electromagnetic induced reflection (EIR) windows.

AlO particles with different sizes were dispersed into an epoxy precursor to improve the thermal conductivity (TC) of the epoxy coating. AlO particles tend to aggregate in epoxy, and the aggregation becomes more apparent (formation of micropapillae when the particle size is larger than 1 μm) with the increase of particle size. The calculated fast aggregation rates of various-size AlO particles in epoxy showed that the fast aggregation rate increased to a maximum rate of 6.

Objective: The meta-analysis was performed to investigate the clinical efficacy of spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with splenic vessel preservation (SPDP-SVP) and spleen-preserving distal pancreatectomy with splenic vessel resection (SPDP-SVR).

Methods: Potential articles were searched on the databases of Pubmed, Embase, and Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) from January 1988 until March 2017. Weight mean difference (WMD) with 95% confidence interval (CI) was applied to compare the efficacy of SPDP-SVP and SPDP-SVR.

In April - June 2008, the matured female Culter alburnus specimens were collected from the Xujiahe Reservoir of China. Their ages were identified by the scales, and their body length, body mass, gonad mass, and other morphological indices were measured. Counted with gravimetric method, the individual absolute fecundity was obtained, and used for calculating the relative fecundity per centimetre, relative fecundity per gram, maturity, relative fatness, and other indices.
