The present paper is aimed to observe the effects of basic fibroblast growth factor (bFGF) on bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSCs) differentiation. The bFGF was used to stimulate BMSCs and histology, immunohistochemistry and enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) were used to examine the extracellular matrix produced by induced BMSCs, evaluated the feasibility of BMSCs being the seeding cells of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disc tissue engineering.
