Introduction: To explore the effect of CRRT using CVVHDF + HP on the removal of inflammatory mediators in patients with septic shock complicated with AKI.
Methods: A total of 20 patients between January 1, 2018, and December 31, 2021, were included. The patients were randomly divided into the treatment group (CVVHDF + HP) and the control group (CVVHDF).
The breeding ecology of birds is the cornerstone of bird life-history theory, and breeding success directly affects the survival and development of populations. We studied the breeding ecology of a secondary cavity-nesting bird, the chestnut-vented nuthatch , in southwestern China from March to June in 2020, 2021, and 2022. In total, 16 nests in nest boxes and 19 nests in natural cavities were studied.

In the development stage, we designed a prospective cohort study, and 319 consecutive patients aged over 65 years from January 2018 to December 2019 were screened. Demographic characteristics and clinical variables were evaluated, and a final prediction model was developed using the multivariate logistic regression analysis.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBACKGROUND Adrenal insufficiency is mainly due to insufficient adrenal corticosteroid hormones secretion by the adrenal cortex, which leads to clinical manifestations such as weakness, weight loss, hyperpigmentation, hypotension, and vomiting. However, the clinical manifestations of adrenocortical insufficiency may be atypical: anorexia, ascites, impaired liver function, and alacrima have been reported. Jaundice and anorexia presenting together in the same patient as the main symptoms are rare.

Introduction: Acute Lung Injury (ALI) with genetic predisposition is fatal. Relationship between angiotensin-converting enzyme insertion/deletion (ACE I/D) polymorphism and the prognosis of local Chinese patients with ALI was investigated; meanwhile, the mechanisms involved were explored.
Methods: 101 ALI patients, 408 non-ALI patients and 236 healthy blood donors were enrolled.
