Static friction, a ubiquitous physical phenomenon, plays a significant role in natural processes and industrial applications. Its influence is particularly notable in the field of controlled micromanipulation and precision manufacturing, where static friction often exceeds kinetic friction and leads to material damage and unpredictable behaviors. In this study, we report the first experimental observation of the elimination of static friction peak in sliding micrometer contacts of layered materials, achieved through a technique involving selective etching of the amorphous edges of single crystalline surfaces.

Objective: To observe the clinical efficacy of electroacupuncture (EA) at frequencies of 2 Hz, 100 Hz, and 2 Hz/100 Hz for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN).

Methods: One hundred and sixty female breast cancer patients with CIPN induced by paclitaxel were randomly divided into a 2 Hz EA group (40 cases, 1 case dropped out), a 100 Hz EA group (40 cases, 2 cases dropped out), a 2 Hz/100 Hz EA group (40 cases, 3 cases dropped out), and a medication group (40 cases, 2 cases dropped out). The three EA groups received acupuncture at bilateral Quchi (LI 11), Waiguan (TE 5), Hegu (LI 4), Zusanli (ST 36), and Yanglingquan (GB 34).

Th17 cells mediated immune response is the basis of a variety of autoimmune diseases, including multiple sclerosis and its mouse model of immune aspects, experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). The gene network that drives both the development of Th17 and the expression of its effector program is dependent on the transcription factor RORγt. In this report, we showed that Peptidylprolyl Cis/Trans Isomerase, NIMA-Interacting 1 (Pin1) formed a complex with RORγt, and enhanced its transactivation activity, thus sustained the expression of the effector genes as well as RORγt in the EAE-pathogenic Th17 cells.

The emerging type II Weyl semimetal 1T' MoTe as a promising material in polarization-sensitive photodetectors has aroused much attention due to its narrow bandgap and intrinsic in-plane anisotropic crystal structure. Background: Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Wuhan, China in December 2019, the overall fatality rate of severe and critical patients with COVID-19 is high and the effective therapy is limited.

Case Summary: In this case report, we describe a case of the successful combination of the prone position (PP) and high-flow nasal oxygen (HFNO) therapy in a spontaneously breathing, severe COVID-19 patient who presented with fever, fatigue and hypoxemia and was diagnosed by positive throat swab COVID-19 RNA testing. The therapy significantly improved the patient's clinical symptoms, oxygenation status, and radiological characteristics of lung injury during hospitalization, and the patient showed good tolerance and avoided intubation.
