To address this issue, we describe here the first iTRAQ-based comparative proteomic analysis of kenaf seedlings. Plants were divided into the following three treatment groups: Group A, watered normally (control); Group B, not watered for 6 days (drought treatment); and Group C, not watered for 5 days and then rewatered for 1 day (recovery treatment).

- The AnAPX gene shows consistent expression across different plant parts and is particularly up-regulated when exposed to cold stress, suggesting its role in the plant's cold tolerance.
- Overexpressing AnAPX in tobacco plants led to decreased cell damage during cold exposure, indicating that this gene helps protect plants from chilling stress.
