Article Synopsis
  • Differential gene expression is crucial for how organisms develop and respond to their environment, and transcription factors (TFs) are key regulators in this process.
  • To understand how TFs control gene expression, researchers must identify their target genes and build a regulatory network, starting with recognizing the DNA sequences TFs can bind to.
  • Advances in technology, including methods like ChIP-chip and ChIP-Seq, have significantly improved our ability to map these DNA-binding profiles of TFs, enhancing research in gene regulation.
