Unlabelled: Enterocolitis is a common and potentially deadly manifestation of Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) but disease mechanisms remain poorly defined. Unexpectedly, we discovered that diet can dramatically affect the lifespan of a HSCR mouse model ( , ) where affected animals die from HAEC complications. In the model, diet alters gut microbes and metabolites, leading to changes in colon epithelial gene expression and epithelial oxygen levels known to influence colitis severity.

Carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites are widely used in aviation thermal insulation layers due to their high strength-to-weight ratio and excellent high-temperature performance. However, challenges remain regarding their structural integrity and durability under extreme conditions. Aberrant transcriptional activation of the androgen receptor (AR) is a predominant cause of prostate cancer (PCa), including both in the initial and androgen-independent stages. Our study highlights Golgi membrane protein 1 (GOLM1) as a key regulator of AR-driven transcriptional activity in PCa progression. Utilizing local clinical data and TCGA data, we have established a robust association between GOLM1 and AR target genes, and further demonstrated that GOLM1 can enhance the expression of AR target genes.

Epigenetic regulatory mechanisms are underappreciated, yet are critical for enteric nervous system (ENS) development and maintenance. We discovered that fetal loss of the epigenetic regulator Bap1 in the ENS lineage caused severe postnatal bowel dysfunction and early death in Tyrosinase-Cre Bap1fl/fl mice. Bap1-depleted ENS appeared normal in neonates; however, by P15, Bap1-deficient enteric neurons were largely absent from the small and large intestine of Tyrosinase-Cre Bap1fl/fl mice.

Here, we found that bladder cancer (BCa)-derived exosomal circRNA_0013936 could enhance the immunosuppressive activity of PMN-MDSCs by regulating the expression of fatty acid transporter protein 2 (FATP2) and receptor-interacting protein kinase 3 (RIPK3). Platelets and M2 macrophages both play crucial roles in tumorigenesis, but their relationship and the prognosis value of the relative genes in bladder cancer (BLCA) remain obscure. In the present study, we found that platelets stimulated by BLCA cell lines could promote M2 macrophage polarization, and platelets were significantly associated with the infiltration of M2 macrophages in BLCA samples. Through the bioinformatic analyses, A2M, TGFB3, and MYLK, which were associated with platelets and M2 macrophages, were identified and verified in vitro and then included in the predictive model.

To ensure the realization of carbon neutrality and emission peak, the Chinese government promulgated the pilot policy for an emissions trading scheme (ETS) in 2011 and gradually expanded the range of the pilot program. However, it has not been systematically studied whether this policy can achieve double dividend and its transmission mechanism. Based on the Porter hypothesis, this paper explores the impacts of an ETS on macro emission reduction and microeconomic performance, verifies the influence of an ETS on double dividend, and analyzes its transmission mechanism using a difference in difference (DID) model and mediation model.

Introduction: Microsurgical clipping and endovascular coiling are the main methods against unruptured intracranial aneurysm (UIA). The craniotomy of surgical clipping may increase the risk of cerebrospinal fluid leakage and infection, damage the brain tissue, produce excessive stimulation to the nerves and blood vessels around the aneurysm, and cause the corresponding neurological deficit. Endovascular coiling could significantly reduce the mortality and disability rate than surgical clipping technique, which made endovascular coiling to become the first choice for the treatment of UIA.

Growing evidence have shown that the migration and invasion inhibitory protein (MIIP, also known as IIp45) functions as a tumor suppressor and its expression is downregulated in several types of cancer, yet the function of MIIP in prostate cancer (PCa) and the underlying mechanism of action remains largely unknown. Here we demonstrated that MIIP acts as a suppressor of PCa by inhibiting epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and cell invasion. Overexpressing MIIP repressed cellular invasion of PC3 and DU145 in vitro, accompanied by a decrease of EMT-inducing factors, and an increase of E-cadherin and KLF17.

To accurately and quantitatively evaluate the mass and particle size distribution of water-soluble and water-insoluble particulate matters (PM) on the surface of tree leaves, which would help to improve the accuracy of quantitative assessment of the retention ability of urban trees to atmospheric particles, we collected leaf samples from three broadleaved tree species [Ginkgo (Ginkgo biloba), Chinese scholar tree (Sophora japonica) and weeping willow (Salix babylonica)] and two conifer species [Chinese pine (Pinus tabuliformis) and China savin (Sabina chinensis)] 14 d after the rain (rainfall>15 mm). The PMs retained on leaves were collected by a succeeding procedure of washing + brushing (WC+BC) and ultrasonic cleaning (UC). Then, the extracts at each step were divided into water-soluble and water-insoluble PMs through centrifuge.
