Contamination introduced by multilayer dielectric grating (MLDG) fabrication increases the risk of laser-induced damage when exposed to intense laser fields, consequently reducing the laser-induced damage resistance of MLDGs in picosecond-petawatt laser systems. While considerable efforts have focused on cleaning methods to minimize contamination, studies on optimizing the etching process remain limited. In this study, two different beam-current etching protocols were employed in fabricating MLDGs and thin films to comprehensively evaluate the adverse effects of subsurface defects introduced by the etching process.

Strong human activities greatly challenge the high-accuracy spatial prediction of soil pollutants and their speciation. This study first determined three auxiliary variables of soil total arsenic (TA) in a typical strong human-affected area, namely in-situ portable X-ray fluorescence (PXRF) TA calibrated by robust geographically weighted regression (RGWR), atmospheric deposition information simulated by atmospheric diffusion model (AERMOD), and land-use types. Then, robust residual cokriging with the above three auxiliary variables (RRCoK-RCPXRF/AD/LUT) was proposed to spatially predict soil TA.

Lotmaria passim is a ubiquitous trypanosomatid parasite of honey bees nestled within the medically important subfamily Leishmaniinae. Although this parasite is associated with honey bee colony losses, the original draft genome-which was completed before its differentiation from the closely related Crithidia mellificae-has remained the reference for this species despite lacking improvements from newer methodologies. Here, we report the updated sequencing, assembly, and annotation of the BRL-type (Bee Research Laboratory) strain (ATCC PRA-422) of Lotmaria passim.

Maximum Entropy model (MaxEnt), as a machine learning algorithm, is widely used to identify potential risk areas for emerging infectious diseases. However, MaxEnt usually overlooks the influence of the optimal selection of spatial grid scale and the optimal combination of factor information on identification accuracy. Furthermore, the internal level information of factors is closely related to the potential risk of disease occurrence but is rarely applied to enhance MaxEnt's accuracy.
