Background: Mucinous adenocarcinoma (MAC) is a peculiar histological subtype of colorectal cancer (CRC) with distinct medical, disease-related, and genetic characteristics. The prognosis of MAC is generally poorer less favorable compared to non-specific adenocarcinoma (AC), but the prognostic indicator of MAC is rare. Therefore, this study aims to identify potential biomarkers and construct a prognostic model to better predict patient outcomes in MAC.

The recycling of spent batteries is an important concern in resource conservation and environmental protection, while it is facing challenges such as insufficient recycling channels, high costs, and technical difficulties. To address these issues, a review of the recycling of spent batteries, emphasizing the importance and potential value of recycling is conducted. Besides, the recycling policies and strategies implemented in representative countries are summarized, providing legal and policy support for the recycling industry.

Superior mesenteric artery syndrome following lung cancer surgery: A case report.

Introduction And Importance: Superior mesenteric artery syndrome (SMAS) is a rare medical condition resulting from vascular compression of the third part of the duodenum in the angle between the aorta and the superior mesenteric artery, leading to partial or complete intestinal obstruction and causing a series of symptoms. We now introduce a case of SMAS after lung cancer surgery, which was unique in that it was most likely caused by weight loss after surgery.

Case Presentation: A 58-year-old male patient gradually developed severe nausea, vomiting, and weight loss after lung cancer surgery.

Hepatocytes Are Resistant to Cell Death From Canonical and Non-Canonical Inflammasome-Activated Pyroptosis.

Background: Pyroptosis, gasdermin-mediated programmed cell death, is readily induced in macrophages by activation of the canonical inflammasome (caspase-1) or by intracellular lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-mediated non-canonical inflammasome (caspase-11) activation. However, whether pyroptosis is induced similarly in hepatocytes is still largely controversial but highly relevant to liver pathologies such as alcoholic/nonalcoholic liver disease, drug-induced liver injury, ischemia-reperfusion and liver transplant injury, or organ damage secondary to sepsis.

Methods And Results: In this study we found that hepatocytes activate and cleave gasdermin-D (GSDMD) at low levels after treatment with LPS.

Efficacy of add-on Danhong injection in patients with unstable angina pectoris: A double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled, multicenter clinical trial.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Danhong injection (DHI)，which is extracted from Salviae miltiorrhizae and Flos carthami，has been widely prescribed to patients with unstable angina pectoris (UAP) in China. However, a high quality clinical trial is needed.

This research was designed to analyze the composition of immune cells in obesity and identify novel and potent drugs for obesity management by epigenetic and transcriptomic conjoint analysis. DNA methylation data set (GSE166611) and mRNA expression microarray (GSE18897) were obtained from the Gene Expression Omnibus database. A total of 72 objects (35 obese samples and 37 controls) were included in the study.

A novel localization technique for peripheral ground glass opacity using geometric parameters measured on CT images.

Background: Currently no optimal localization technique has been established for localization of ground glass opacity (GGO). We aimed to introduce a localization technique using geometric localization for peripheral GGO.

Methods: A retrospective study was designed which included patients who were admitted to the ICU from January 2015 to October 2018. Multiple logistic regression and receiver operating characteristic (ROC) as well as smooth curve fitting analysis were used to assess the relationship between the PCT level and AKI.
