Purpose: To investigate the treatment response and toxicity of the combination of induction chemotherapy (IC) and PD-1 inhibitor in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC).

Methods: Patients with stage III-IVA NPC who received IC or IC + PD-1 inhibitor were included. The chi-square test and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used for statistical analysis.

Purpose: To investigate the survival outcomes and toxicities associated with the addition of nimotuzumab to concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CCRT) in locally advanced nasopharyngeal carcinoma (LANPC) patients who received induction chemotherapy (IC).

Methods: Patients with stage III-IVA nasopharyngeal carcinoma who received IC and CCRT between January 2017 and October 2021 were retrospectively included. We aimed to compare the locoregional recurrence-free survival (LRFS), distant metastasis-free survival (DMFS), disease-free survival (DFS), and overall survival (OS) between patients treated with CCRT+nimotuzumab and CCRT alone.

Great efforts have been made to convert renewable biomass into transportation fuels. Herein, we report the novel properties of NbO(x)-based catalysts in the hydrodeoxygenation of furan-derived adducts to liquid alkanes. Excellent activity and stability were observed with almost no decrease in octane yield (>90% throughout) in a 256 h time-on-stream test.

Dye-sensitized solar cells have attracted intense research attention owing to their ease of fabrication, cost-effectiveness and high efficiency in converting solar energy. Noble platinum is generally used as catalytic counter electrode for redox mediators in electrolyte solution. Unfortunately, platinum is expensive and non-sustainable for long-term applications.

Ceria (CeO(2)) and ceria-based composite materials, especially Ce(1-x)Zr(x)O(2) solid solutions, possess a wide range of applications in many important catalytic processes, such as three-way catalysts, owing to their excellent oxygen storage capacity (OSC) through the oxygen vacancy formation and refilling. Much of this activity has focused on the understanding of the electronic and structural properties of defective CeO(2) with and without doping, and comprehending the determining factor for oxygen vacancy formation and the rule to tune the formation energy by doping has constituted a central issue in material chemistry related to ceria. However, the calculation on electronic structures and the corresponding relaxation patterns in defective CeO(2-x) oxides remains at present a challenge in the DFT framework.

Using first principles calculations for O vacancy diffusion on CeO(2)(111), we locate a surface diffusion mechanism, the two-step O vacancy exchange one, which is more favored than the most common hopping mechanism. By analyzing the results, we identify quantitatively the physical origin of why the two-step exchange mechanism is preferred.

The C-H activation on metal oxides is a fundamental process in chemistry. In this paper, we report a density functional theory study on the process of the C-H activation of CH(4) on Pd(111), Pt(111), Ru(0001), Tc(0001), Cu(111), PdO(001), PdO(110), and PdO(100). A linear relationship between the C-H activation barrier and the chemisorption in the dissociation final state on the metal surfaces is obtained, which is consistent with the work in the literature.

On the basis of MCM-22 zeolite synthesis at the static condition in 100 mL lined PTFE autoclave, 250 and 1000 mL stainless steel autoclave respectively, the synthesis of MCM-22 zeolite was studied at the rotating condition in 2, 5 and 200 L autoclave respectively. The samples as-synthesized and calcined were characterized by means of XRD and so on. The resultsshow that all the synthesized samples are the pure MCM-22 zeolites, and their crystallinities were high, and MCM-22 zeolite can be synthesized successfully at the rotating condition in 200 L stainless steel autoclave.
