Objective To explore the effect of microRNA-22-3p (miR-22-3p) regulating the expression of Kruppel-like factor 6 (KLF6) on the cardiomyocyte-like differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal stem cell (BMSC). Methods Rat BMSC was isolated and cultured, and the third-generation BMSC was divided into a control group,a 5-azacytidine(5-AZA)group,a mimics-NC group,a miR-22-3p mimics group,a miR-22-3p mimics+pcDNA group, and a miR-22-3p mimics+pcDNA-KLF6 group.Real-time fluorescent quantitative PCR (qRT-PCR) was carried out to determine the expression of miR-22-3p and KLF6 in cells.

Background: Inhibition of the protein C system (PCS) might be one of the mechanisms of ulcerative colitis (UC).

Objectives: The aim of the study was to explore the role of IgG plasma cells in changes in the PCS in UC.

Material And Methods: Dextran sulfate sodium (DSS) was chosen to induce mouse UC.

It has been reported that resistin induces, whereas apelin inhibits cardiac hypertrophy. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of apelin inhibiting resistin-induced cardiac hypertrophy remain unclear. The aim of the current study is to investigate the effects of apelin on resistin-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and elucidate the underlying molecular mechanism.

Resistin has been previously demonstrated to induce cardiac hypertrophy, however, the underlying molecular mechanisms of resistin-induced cardiac hypertrophy remain unclear. Using H9c2 cells, the present study investigated the liver kinase B1 (LKB1)/adenosine monophosphate-activated protein kinase (AMPK) signaling pathway for a potential role in mediating resistin-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy. Treatment of H9c2 cells with resistin increased cell surface area, protein synthesis, and expression of hypertrophic marker brain natriuretic peptide and β-myosin heavy chain.

Background: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play key roles in cardiac development, and the expression of miRNAs is altered in the diseased heart. The aim of this study was to explore the value of circulating microRNA-122-5p (miR-122-5p) as a potential biomarker for acute myocardial infarction (AMI).

Methods: Plasma samples from 50 patients with AMI and 39 healthy adults (non-AMI controls) were collected.

Background: Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is known to occur frequently in and may predict worsening progression of patients with congestive heart failure (CHF). SDB is also known to play an important role in the development of idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) via inducing endothelial dysfunction and vascular remodeling, a pathological process that can be significantly influenced by factors such as osteoprotegerin (OPG) and endothelial progenitor cells (EPCs). The objective of this study is to determine if CHF with SDB is associated with changes in OPG, EPCs, and PAH.
