The chiral amine (R)-2-(1-aminoethyl)-4-fluorophenol has attracted increasing attentions in recent years in the field of pharmaceuticals because of its important use as a building block in the synthesis of novel anti-tumor drugs targeting tropomyosin receptor kinases. In the present study, a ω-transaminase (ωTA) library consisting of 21 (R)-enantioselective enzymes was constructed and screened for the asymmetric biosynthesis of (R)-2-(1-aminoethyl)-4-fluorophenol from its prochiral ketone. Using (R)-α-methylbenzylamine, D-alanine, or isopropylamine as amino donor, 18 ωTAs were identified with target activity and the enzyme AbTA, which was originally identified from Arthrobacter sp.

Multi-component nitride thin films usually show high hardness and good wear resistance due to the nanoscale structure and solid-solution strengthening effect. However, the state of N atoms in the thin film and its effects on the compressive strength is still unclear. In this work, (AlTiVCr)N multi-component nitride thin films with a face-centered cubic (FCC) structure prepared by the direct current magnetron sputtering method exhibit a superior strength of ~4.

Herein, cervical cancer, precancer lesions, and normal cervical tissues were collected to test the expression level of HDAC10, miR-223, and EPB41L3. The mechanism of HDAC10, miR-223, and EPB41L3 was interpreted in cervical cancer cells after HDAC10, miR-223, or EPB41L3 expression was altered.

Methods: Relevant studies were identified by searching PubMed, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library from January 1, 2000 to December 2, 2020.
Although coinfection with influenza in COVID-19 patients has drawn considerable attention, it is still not completely understood whether simultaneously infected with these two viruses influences disease severity. We therefore aimed to estimate the impact of coinfected with SARS-CoV-2 and influenza on the disease outcomes compared with the single infection of SARS-CoV-2. We searched the PubMed, Web of Science, Embase, Cochrane Library, China National Knowledge Infrastructure Database (CNKI) to identify relevant articles up to July 9, 2021.

Previous studies have reported that temperature is the main meteorological factor associated with influenza activity. This study used generalized additive models (GAMs) to explore the relationship between temperature and influenza activity in China. From the national perspective, the average temperature (AT) had an approximately negative linear correlation with the incidence of influenza, as well as a positive rate of influenza H1N1 virus (A/H1N1).

However, the understanding of their types and mechanisms is still limited. Herein, we report a novel nanopore formation phenomenon achieved through the insertion of polymeric nanotoroids into the cellular membrane.

The aim of this study was to investigate the epidemiological features and spatial-temporal distribution of VL in mainland China from 2004 to 2019.
Methods: Incidence and mortality data for VL during the period 2004-2019 were collected from the Public Health Sciences Data Center of China and annual national epidemic reports of VL, whose data source was the National Diseases Reporting Information System.
This observational study aims to investigate the early disease patterns of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in Southeast Asia, consequently providing historical experience for further interventions. Data were extracted from official websites of the WHO and health authorities of relevant countries. A total of 1346 confirmed cases of COVID-19, with 217 recoveries and 18 deaths, were reported in Southeast Asia as of 16 March 2020.

However, the synthesis of these compounds remains mostly complicated and time-consuming. Herein, we have developed chemoselective Pd-catalyzed approaches for the late-stage diversification of arenes bearing prefunctionalized KATs.

The ligation is fast, chemoselective, mild, high-yielding and displays excellent functional-group tolerance. Late-stage modifications of an array of marketed drugs, peptides, natural products, and biologically active compounds showcase the robustness and functional-group tolerance of the reaction.

Enantiomerically pure 1,2-amino alcohol/α-amino acid versions of these heterocycles were also synthesized. Further, we have shown the late-stage modification of certain biologically active agents using the developed seleno-SLAP reagents.

Here we demonstrated that the adsorption and ordering of amphiphilic rod-coil block copolymers on a substrate can generate well-aligned stripe nanopatterns by dissipative particle dynamics simulations. The effects of the copolymer concentration and the surface affinity on the formation of stripe nanopatterns were examined.
