The paper introduces one case of intractable beriberi treated with acupuncture of 's three-promotion needling method. The patient visited the hospital because of "repeated redness and swelling of the feet, combined with itching for over 2 years, aggravated in recent 2 days on the left foot". The chief complaints included redness and swelling of the left foot, with the normal walking disturbed, poor appetite, and abdominal distention after meal.

Methods: We enrolled patients with CRLM from the US Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) cohort and a multicenter Chinese cohort, integrating bulk RNA sequencing, single-cell RNA sequencing and proteomics data. The cancer-specific survival (CSS) and immune profiles of the tumor-draining lymph nodes (TDLNs), primary tumors and liver metastasis were compared between patients with and without LNM.
Objective: This study investigates the impact of Titin (TTN) gene mutations on radiotherapy sensitivity in rectum adenocarcinoma (READ) by examining changes in the tumour immune microenvironment.
Methods: Data on gene expression and mutations in READ were obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas (TCGA) and International Cancer Genome Consortium (ICGC) databases. Bioinformatics analysis explored the correlation between TTN mutations and immune cell infiltration.

Heatwaves have substantial but poorly quantified impacts on surface ozone photochemical regimes. As heatwaves of increasing severity occur, communities face more serious exposure to ozone, necessitating a more comprehensive understanding of the impact of heatwaves on the nonlinear response of ozone to its precursors for guiding policies in emission reductions. Here we estimate the spatiotemporal evolution of global ozone chemistry based on machine learning and in situ observations and show that emission changes and heatwaves alter ozone photochemical regimes, leading to diverse ozone changes across regions.

Modulating the sclera's properties by exogenous crosslinking offers a way to expand the tissue's range of properties for study of the possible influences on the eye's behavior and diseases such as glaucoma and myopia. The focus of this work was to evaluate the effects of genipin crosslinking targeting the porcine perilimbal sclera (PLS) since the stiffness of this tissue was previously found in a number of studies to influence the eye's intraocular pressure (IOP).

However, the dynamic evolution of lattice oxygen during the reaction poses significant challenges for the stability of high-valence metal sites, particularly in high-current-density water-splitting systems. Here, we have successfully constructed Co-O-Fe catalytic active motifs in cobalt-iron Prussian blue analogs (CoFe-PBA) through oxygen plasma bombardment, effectively activating lattice oxygen reactivity while sustaining robust stability.

The precise identification of the synovium and the quantification of inflammation-specific imaging biomarkers is a crucial aspect of accurately quantifying and grading RA. In this study, a deep learning-based approach is presented that automates the segmentation of the synovium in ultrasound images of finger joints affected by RA.

Materials And Methods: Data from 302 patients with LARC who underwent neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy and total mesorectal excision in our hospital between 2015 and 2018 were retrospectively reviewed, and the patients were randomly allocated into the training and validation cohorts in a ratio of 7:3. Patients were followed-up for more than 3 years postoperatively with metachronous DM as the endpoint.
Background: The role of intraoperative near-infrared fluorescence angiography with indocyanine green in reducing anastomotic leakage (AL) has been demonstrated in colorectal surgery, however, its perfusion assessment mode, and efficacy in reducing anastomotic leakage after laparoscopic intersphincteric resection (LsISR) need to be further elucidated.
Aim: Aim was to study near-infrared fluorescent angiography to help identify bowel ischemia to reduce AL after LsISR.
Material And Methods: A retrospective case-matched study was conducted in one referral center.
Significance: Many techniques exist for screening retinal phenotypes in mouse models in vision research, but significant challenges remain for efficiently probing higher visual centers of the brain. Photoacoustic computed tomography (PACT), with optical sensitivity to hemodynamic response (HR) in brain and ultrasound resolution, provides unique advantages in comprehensively assessing higher visual function in the mouse brain.
Aim: We aim to examine the reliability of PACT in the functional phenotyping of mouse models for vision research.
High-quality-factor microring resonators are highly desirable in many applications. Fabricating a microring resonator typically requires delicate instruments to ensure a smooth side wall of waveguides and 100-nm critical feature size in the coupling region. In this work, we demonstrate a new method "damascene soft nanoimprinting lithography" that can create high-fidelity waveguide by simply backfill an imprinted cladding template with a high refractive index polymer core.

There is scant nationwide, multicenter studies comparing the surgical quality and short-term outcomes between R-NOSES and R-TSES for this condition.
Objective: This retrospective cohort study was conducted nationally across multiple centers to compare the surgical quality and short-term outcomes between R-NOSES and R-TSES in early-stage rectal cancer.

Background: Isolated ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy as a type of ophthalmic disease is rarely observed in clinical practice. Quality of life is frequently impacted by isolated ischemic oculomotor nerve palsy due to its lack of treatment options and long-term visual impairment. We describe an acupuncture-treated instance of isolated ischemic oculomotor paralysis.

Methods: Patients with end-stage kidney disease who were receiving PD and required a switch to an alternative KRT were included. They were divided into physician-oriented group or patient-oriented group based on the decision-making process.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) significantly contribute to ozone pollution formation, and many VOCs are known to be harmful to human health. Plastic has become an indispensable material in various industries and daily use scenarios, yet the VOC emissions and associated health risks in the plastic manufacturing industry have received limited attention. In this study, we conducted sampling in three typical plastic manufacturing factories to analyze the emission characteristics of VOCs, ozone formation potential (OFP), and health risks for workers.

Multiple prediction models based on machine learning have been developed to assess the likelihood of developing DM.
Methods: Clinicopathological features of patients with CRC were obtained from the National Cancer Center (NCC, China) and the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) database.
Nighttime ozone enhancement (NOE) can increase the oxidation capacity of the atmosphere by stimulating nitrate radical formation and subsequently facilitating the formation of secondary pollutants, thereby affecting air quality in the following days. Previous studies have demonstrated that when nocturnal ozone (O) concentrations exceed 80 μg/m, it leads to water loss and reduction of plant yields. In this study, the characteristics and mechanisms of NOE over Shandong Province as well as its 16 cities were analyzed based on observed hourly O concentrations from 2020 to 2022.
