Catalysts with high catalytic activity and low production cost are important for industrial application of heterogeneous catalytic ozonation (HCO). In this study, we designed a carbon-coated aluminum oxide carrier (C-AlO) and reinforced it with Mn-Fe bimetal assemblages to prepare a high-performance catalyst Mn-Fe/C-AlO. The results showed that the carbon embedding significantly improved the abundance of surface oxygen functional groups, conductivity, and adsorption capacity of γ-AlO, while preserving its exceptional mechanical strength as a carrier.

The use of a bipolar membrane (BPM) in a hybrid acid/alkali electrolyzer is widely considered as a promising energy technology for efficient hydrogen production. The stability of a BPM is often believed to be largely limited by the anion exchange layer (AEL) due to the hydrophilic attack of AEL polymers by hydroxide groups in alkaline. In this study, we employ X-ray computed tomography (CT) to investigate the degradation behaviors of BPM and found that the cation exchange layer (CEL) experiences more pronounced degradation compared with the AEL during water splitting operations.

Surgical excision of the pigmented nail matrix followed by histopathologic examination is a common procedure aimed at managing longitudinal melanonychia (LM). In some cases, use of a standard scalpel can pose challenges, particularly if the width of the pigmented matrix lesion is narrow. We explore an alternative and effective tool-the customized dermal curette.

The anti-inflammatory properties and definite mechanism of acacetin remains incompletely illuminated. Here, we evaluated the efficacy of acacetin on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced acute lung injury and TNF-α-stimulated cellular injury .

Herein, the co-doping of the highest electronegative fluorine (F) and large atomic radius chlorine (Cl) into G via a one-step electrochemical exfoliation protocol is engineered to actualize the ultralong cycling stability for flexible micro-supercapacitors (MSCs). Density functional theoretical calculations unveiled that the F into G can form the "ionic" C─F bond to increase the repulsive force between nanosheets, and the introduction of Cl can enlarge the layer spacing of G as well as increase active sites by accumulating the charge on pore defects.

Current evidence revealed that type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is closely associated with declining semen quality, especially for poor sperm motility. This study aimed to uncover the genetic interrelationships and important biomarkers between AZS and T2DM.

EGF-like repeats and discoidal I-like domain 3 (EDIL3) is a secreted protein with multiple structural domains and associated with various physiological functions. In this study, we employed a mannan-induced psoriatic arthritis model to investigate the impact of EDIL3 on PsA pathogenesis.

Background: To identify the risk factors and construct a predictive model for early recurrence of hepatitis B virus(HBV-)- related hepatocellular carcinomas(HCCs) after radical resection.
Data And Methods: A total of 465 HBV-related HCC patients underwent radical resections between January 1, 2012 and August 31, 2018.Their data were collected through the inpatient information management system of the First Affiliated Hospital of University of Science and Technology of China.
Objective: This study aimed to design and evaluate the efficacy of pyrrolidone derivatives as potential therapeutic agents against diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), a common and heterogeneous malignancy of the adult lymphohematopoietic system. Given the limitations of current therapies, there is a pressing need to develop new and effective drugs for DLBCL treatment.
Methods: A series of pyrrolidone derivatives were synthesized, and their antitumor activities were assessed, particularly against DLBCL cell lines.
Ubiquitin (Ub) is a post-translational modification that largely controls proteostasis through mechanisms spanning transcription, translation, and notably, protein degradation. Ub conjugation occurs through a hierarchical cascade of three enzyme classes (E1, E2, and E3s) involving >1000 proteins that regulate the ubiquitination of proteins. The E2 Ub-conjugating enzymes are the midpoint, yet their cellular roles remain under-characterized, partly due to a lack of inhibitors.

With the progress of modern science and technology, magnetic therapy technology develops rapidly, and many types of magnetic therapy methods continue to emerge, making magnetic therapy one of the main techniques of physiotherapy. With the continuous development of magnetic field research and clinical applications, magnetic therapy, as a non-invasive brain stimulation therapy technology, has attracted much attention due to its potential in the treatment of motor dysfunction, cognitive impairment and speech disorders in patients with neurodegenerative diseases. However, the role of magnetic fields in the prognosis and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases and their mechanisms remain largely unexplored.
