The nuclear pore complex (NPC), a multisubunit complex located within the nuclear envelope, regulates RNA export and the import and export of proteins. Here we address the role of the NPC in driving thermal stress-induced 3D genome repositioning of () genes in yeast. We found that two nuclear basket proteins, Mlp1 and Nup2, although dispensable for NPC integrity, are required for driving genes into coalesced chromatin clusters, consistent with their strong, heat shock-dependent recruitment to gene regulatory and coding regions.

We performed a prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group, multicentric, phase II clinical trial comparing the rate of hospitalization due to COVID-19 infection between azelastine 0.1% nasal spray and placebo nasal spray treatment groups.

Telerehabilitation requires a substantial transformation of the organization and delivery of traditional services. Considering that a virtual setting can create unique challenges for providing physiotherapy services and given the physical and potential hands-on nature of evidence-based assessments and interventions, it is important to investigate what injured workers think of receiving physiotherapy care via telerehabilitation and to examine if rehabilitation needs are adequately met.

Social marketing aims to increase adoption of desired behaviours in target audiences and may uncover new strategies to improve uptake of helpful pain-related behaviours at the population-level. We systematically evaluated effects of contemporary mass media campaigns targeting musculoskeletal pain and used social marketing benchmarking to explore strategies associated with campaign success.

Studies investigating the ethical acceptability of telemedical consultations (TC) in nursing homes are lacking, and in particular, the perspectives and experiences of older adults with TC are underrepresented. The objective of this study is to identify ethically relevant parameters in the acute care of nursing home residents using TC and to derive recommendations.

Using both ligation proximity and fluorescence microscopy assays, we show that in , () genes dispersed across multiple chromosomes and under the control of Heat Shock Factor (Hsf1) rapidly reposition in cells exposed to acute ethanol stress and engage in concerted, Hsf1-dependent intergenic interactions. Accompanying 3D genome reconfiguration is equally rapid formation of Hsf1-containing condensates.

Phase 1 (quasi-experiment; = 11,996) compared PreK students whose parents enrolled in CPP with those whose parents did not enroll in CPP on measures of kindergarten readiness, chronic absenteeism, suspensions/expulsions, and grade retention. Phase 2 (qualitative; = 20) explored the perceptions of school-based staff, principals, and district and community leaders on CPP's impact on parents, students, and parent engagement, and why they sought to continue CPP in the schools.

Several PROMs are used to evaluate pelvic organ prolapse (POP)-related domains, yet the measurement properties of these instruments have not been fully explored with a rigorous analysis of the methodological quality and quality of evidence.
Objective: To conduct a systematic review reporting on the measurement properties of PROMs used for the assessment of POP-related domains in accordance with the COSMIN guidelines.
Background: Despite continuous performance improvements, especially in clinical contexts, a major challenge of Artificial Intelligence based Decision Support Systems (AI-DSS) remains their degree of epistemic opacity. The conditions of and the solutions for the justified use of the occasionally unexplainable technology in healthcare are an active field of research. In March 2024, the European Union agreed upon the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), requiring medical AI-DSS to be ad-hoc explainable or to use post-hoc explainability methods.

Because of his "Jewish descent," Corten lost his position as a pathologist in Berlin and later his license to practice medicine. Emigration failed.

Purpose: To identify research priorities related to COVID rehabilitation from the perspectives of persons with lived experiences, clinicians, researchers, community organization and policy representatives.
Materials & Methods: We conducted five international consultations to identify key issues and research priorities in COVID rehabilitation using (i) web-based questionnaires, (ii) synchronous discussions, and (iii) content analysis of COVID rehabilitation research conference presentations. We collated responses and notes and then analyzed data using content analytical techniques.
Gender-based violence (GBV) poses a significant concern in the construction and natural resources industries, where women, due to lower social status and integration, are at heightened risk. This systematic review aimed to identify the prevalence and experience of GBV in the construction and natural resources industries. A systematic search across databases including PubMed, OVID, Scopus, Web of Science, and CINAHL was conducted.

Between March 2018 and February 2020, a community-based parenting program conducted 38 in-person Chicago Parent Program (CPP) groups. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we modified the delivery of the in-person CPP to hybrid delivery using the self-administered, web-based version of the CPP (ezParent) paired with web-based, videoconferenced group sessions.

Microbiological test methods (contained in general chapters) are listed in chapters <51> to <80> with details regarded as enforceable where referenced as a test method. USP <61> "Microbiological Examination of Nonsterile Products: Microbial Enumeration Tests" is a globally harmonized chapter that has been successfully employed for the enumeration of microorganisms recoverable from nonsterile finished drug products.

The lack of attention paid to how young people respond to communication changes during concussion recovery constitutes a significant gap in current concussion management research and practices.
Aims: To explore how youth respond to the effects of post-concussion communication changes in their daily life, including (1) daily routines, (2) relationships with family members, (3) relationships with peers and (4) participation in school/work and community activities.
According to Cochrane Rehabilitation's recently published definition for research purposes, rehabilitation is inherently complex. Rehabilitation teams frequently implement multiple strategies concurrently, draw on input from a range of different health professionals, target multiple outcomes, and personalize therapeutic plans. The success of rehabilitation lies not only in the specific therapies employed, but also in how they are delivered, when they are delivered, and the capability and willingness of patients to engage in them.

The objective of this study was to determine the impact of the pandemic on inpatient and outpatient healthcare use, disease incidence, and mortality rates in pwCOPD. A retrospective population-based analysis using linked administrative datasets from Alberta, Canada 18 months before and after March 12, 2020 was conducted to measure hospitalization, emergency department and outpatient visits, and COPD outpatient exacerbations during these time periods.
