We report on the first deployment of a ytterbium (Yb) transportable optical lattice clock (TOLC), commercially shipping the clock 3000 km from Boulder, Colorado, to Washington DC. The system, composed of a rigidly mounted optical reference cavity, an atomic physics package, and an optical frequency comb, fully realizes an independent frequency standard for comparisons in the optical and microwave domains. The shipped Yb TOLC was fully operational within 2 days of arrival, enabling frequency comparison with a rubidium (Rb) fountain at the United States Naval Observatory (USNO).

To understand the goal, the objective of this study was to demonstrate statistical changes in laboratory values as described above.
Methods: Previous prospectively designed experiments on 120 mixed-breed dogs were conducted.
Purpose: Men on active surveillance (AS) for prostate cancer are extremely interested in dietary changes or supplements to prevent progression of their disease. We sought to determine whether a high omega-3, low omega-6 fatty acid diet with fish oil capsules (D + FO) decreases proliferation (Ki-67) in prostate biopsies in men with prostate cancer on AS over a 1-year time period.
Methods: In this phase II, prospective randomized trial, men (N = 100) with grade group 1 or 2 prostate cancer who elected AS were randomly assigned to the D + FO or a control group.
Objective: Chronic lung disease (CLD) is a complication of prematurity. Studies examining the effects of long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LC-PUFAs) on CLD are conflicting. This study investigated LC-PUFAs in the red blood cell membrane (RBCM) in preterm infants.

Oropharyngeal dysphagia (OPD) occurring after lung transplant surgery increases the risk of antegrade aspiration. While the incidence and risk factors for OPD have been well described in cardiac surgery, there is less known in the lung transplant population.

The purpose of this study was to characterize clinically significant PCa (csPCa) detected and not detected by PSMA PET/CT and mpMRI, focusing on tumors detected solely by PSMA PET/CT and overlooked by mpMRI. We conducted a single-center, retrospective analysis of patients who underwent both PSMA PET/CT and mpMRI within 3 mo of each other and before radical prostatectomy.

High-acuity ICD codes justify DRG modifiers, indicating the need for escalated hospital resources. In this manuscript, we demonstrate that value of rules-based computer algorithms that audit for omission of administrative codes and quantifying the downstream effects with regard to financial impacts and demographic findings did not indicate significant disparities.

Improved accuracy of wearable biosensors and remote field biologic sample collection strategies could make critical contributions to understanding how physical readiness and occupational stressors result in on-the-job and environment-related injury, sleep impairments, diagnosis of mental health disorders, and reductions in performance in war-fighters.
Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and acceptability of intensive biomarker and biometric data collection to understand physiological and psychological stress in Army Reserved Officer Training Corps cadets before, during, and after a 96-hour field training exercise (FTX).
For prostate cancer patients who experience biochemical progression during androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), prostate-specific membrane antigen positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PSMA PET/CT) has not been prospectively compared to planar bone scan plus CT. This was a single-arm, head-to-head, prospective phase II trial (NCT04928820) designed to enroll 102 men with prostate cancer who experienced biochemical progression (rising prostate-specific antigen [PSA] ≥ 1 ng/mL) during ADT. All patients received 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT and 99mTc-MDP planar bone scans.

While some perioperative risk factors have been associated with postoperative AKI, the impact of liver graft weight to recipient body weight ratio (GW/RBW) has been poorly explored. We hypothesized that a high GW/RBW ratio would be associated with AKI after LT.

Objective: To determine whether subcutaneous (SC) abdominal adipose aldo-keto reductase 1C3 (AKR1C3; a marker of testosterone generation) is increased in normal-weight women with PCOS vs age- and body mass index (BMI)-matched normoandrogenic ovulatory women (controls) and is related to SC abdominal adipose activator protein-1 (AP-1; a marker of adipocyte differentiation) and/or androgen receptor (AR) protein expression in predicting fat accretion.
Design: Prospective cohort study.
Introduction: We aimed to quantitatively examine differences in health-related quality of life (HRQOL) by race/ethnicity among older adults with lung cancer.
Materials And Methods: Using the Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results-Medicare Health Outcomes Survey (SEER-MHOS) data set, we identified two cohorts of patients ≥65 years old with lung cancer diagnosed from 2004 to 2015 who completed the health outcomes survey within 36 months pre- and post-diagnosis. The Physical Component Summary (PCS) and Mental Component Summary (MCS) were used to measure HRQOL.
This analysis aimed to identify clinical factors associated with positivity on repeat Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT after a negative scan in patients with recurrent prostate cancer (PCa) under observation. This single-center, retrospective analysis included patients who underwent at least 2 Ga-PSMA-11 PET/CT scans (PET1 and PET2) at UCLA between October 2016 and June 2021 for recurrent PCa with negative PET1 and no PCa-related treatments between the 2 scans. Using Prostate Cancer Molecular Imaging Standardized Evaluation criteria to define negative and positive scans, the final cohort was divided into PET2-negative (PET2-Neg) and PET2-positive (PET2-Pos).

A 1388-nm optical standing wave nearly resonant with the ^{3}P_{0}→^{3}D_{1} transition creates a spatially periodic light shift of the ^{3}P_{0} clock state. Following excitation on the ultranarrow clock transition, we observe Sisyphus cooling in this potential, as the light shift is correlated with excitation to ^{3}D_{1} and subsequent spontaneous decay to the ^{1}S_{0} ground state.

Protocol compliance among anesthesiologists tends to be suboptimal owing to the high workload and the attention required for implementation. The assisted fluid management (AFM) system is a novel decision support tool designed to help clinicians apply GDFT protocols.

Approximately 20–40% of individuals in the United States are affected by AR, which carries notable clinical and financial burdens. Interestingly, there is a strong link between AR and asthma to the extent that countries with a high prevalence of rhinitis have asthma rates ranging from 10% to 25%.

This strategy, however, may lead to hyperlactatemia. The Acumen assisted fluid management system uses novel decision support software, the algorithm of which helps clinicians optimize fluid therapy.

: Cardiorespiratory fitness positively correlates with longevity and immune health. Regular exercise may provide health benefits by reducing systemic inflammation. In chronic disease conditions, such as chronic heart failure and chronic fatigue syndrome, mechanistic links have been postulated between inflammation, muscle weakness, frailty, catabolic/anabolic imbalance, and aberrant chronic activation of immunity with monocyte upregulation.
