Article Synopsis
  • Recent studies have established a clear link between the structural design of drug compounds and their biological effectiveness, highlighting the importance of stereoisomers in both therapeutic outcomes and potential side effects.
  • The use of computational methods, particularly Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships (QSAR) alongside molecular modeling, has become essential in modern drug discovery, allowing for computer-based drug searches before moving to lab experiments.
  • With over 101 million known organic compounds and more than 25,000 recognized biological activities, in silico methods are increasingly vital for efficiently screening and identifying promising drug candidates.

Background And Aim: Canine testicular tumors are among the most common reproductive tract tumors in male dogs and have been studied in many countries. However, to the best of our knowledge, studies with a large sample size have not been conducted in Russia. This study aimed to provide the latest information on the prevalence of canine testicular tumors in the Veterinary Oncology Scientific Center for Small Animals "Biocontrol" in Moscow, Russia, in 2010-2020 and the characteristics of the affected canine population.

The ESA-JAXA BepiColombo mission to Mercury will provide simultaneous measurements from two spacecraft, offering an unprecedented opportunity to investigate magnetospheric and exospheric particle dynamics at Mercury as well as their interactions with solar wind, solar radiation, and interplanetary dust. The particle instrument suite SERENA (Search for Exospheric Refilling and Emitted Natural Abundances) is flying in space on-board the BepiColombo Mercury Planetary Orbiter (MPO) and is the only instrument for ion and neutral particle detection aboard the MPO. It comprises four independent sensors: ELENA for neutral particle flow detection, Strofio for neutral gas detection, PICAM for planetary ions observations, and MIPA, mostly for solar wind ion measurements.

Background And Aim: Left ventricular myocardial remodeling could play an important role in the progression of chronic heart failure (CHF) syndrome in dogs with mitral valve endocardiosis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the left ventricular myocardial remodeling in dogs with mitral valve endocardiosis and to study the dependence of the incidence of this pathological phenomenon on the functional class (FC) of progression of the CHF syndrome.

Materials And Methods: A total of 108 afflicted dogs and 36 clinically healthy dogs were examined using transthoracic echocardiography.

Hygienic education of servicemen under condition of tuberculosis hospital. TB patients need not only long-term complex specialized treatment in the hospital, but also the qualified psychological impact by medical personnel. To motivate patients to complete treatment and ensure proper awareness of the disease and its consequences it is required to organize hygienic education for patients.

Previously it has been shown that argon has a stimulating effect on biological processes including, specifically, strong protective properties during exposure to acute (1-4 hrs.) hypoxic hypoxia. Experiments with animals under hypoxia gradually growing over 3 to 7 days may give insight into mechanisms of the argon protective action.

The results of hand reconstructions with posterior interosseous flap were studied in 10 children (4 males and 6 females) aged from 1 year to 13 years old. In 4 cases flap coverage was performed due to acquired posttraumatic hand deformity, in 6 cases reconstruction was assumed for congenital hand deformities. Combined procedures consisted of posterior interosseous flap coverage and other types of microsurgical reconstructions were suggested in all 10 patients.

Decrease of oxygen delivery is common in hypoxia. This is the reason of decrease of consumption (VO2) at Mammalia including human. Previously, we have described a hypoxic hypometabolism at 1/3 health persons breathing 17% O2 oxygen air.

Article Synopsis
  • The study reports the first measurements of vector-boson production associated with a top quark-antiquark pair during proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, using data from the CMS detector at the LHC from 2011.
  • Two analysis channels were employed: a trilepton analysis for ttZ events and a same-sign dilepton analysis for ttV events (where V can be W or Z).
  • The measured cross sections are σ(ttZ) = 0.28 pb and σ(ttV) = 0.43 pb, both significant at over 3 standard deviations, and they align with theoretical predictions within the stated uncertainties.

A search for the pair production of a heavy, narrow resonance decaying into two jets has been performed using events collected in sqrt[s] = 7 TeV pp collisions with the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 5.0 fb(-1).

A study is presented of the mass and spin-parity of the new boson recently observed at the LHC at a mass near 125 GeV. An integrated luminosity of 17.3 fb(-1), collected by the CMS experiment in proton-proton collisions at center-of-mass energies of 7 and 8 TeV, is used.

The polarizations of the Υ(1S), Υ(2S), and Υ(3S) mesons are measured in proton-proton collisions at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV, using a data sample of Υ(nS) → μ +μ- decays collected by the CMS experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.9 fb(-1). The dimuon decay angular distributions are analyzed in three different polarization frames.

Results are presented from a search for the pair production of third-generation scalar and vector leptoquarks, as well as for top squarks in R-parity-violating supersymmetric models. In either scenario, the new, heavy particle decays into a τ lepton and a b quark. The search is based on a data sample of pp collisions at sqrt[s] = 7 TeV, which is collected by the CMS detector at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 4.

Results are presented from a search for heavy, right-handed muon neutrinos, N(μ), and right-handed W(R) bosons, which arise in the left-right symmetric extensions of the standard model. The analysis is based on a 5.0  fb(-1) sample of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV, collected by the CMS detector at the Large Hadron Collider.
