Aim: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of the advanced technique for positioning the endocardial electrodes of a cardiac contractility modulation (CCM) device.

Materials And Methods: The CCM system was implanted in 100 patients, of which 60 CCM electrodes were positioned in the most optimal zones of myocardial perfusion, in particular, in the zone of the minor focal-scar/fibrotic lesion (the Summed Rest Score of 0 to 1-2, the intensity of the radiopharmaceutical at least 30%), and in 40 patients according to the standard procedure. Before the implantation of the CCM system, 60 patients underwent tomography (S-SPECT) of the myocardium with Tc-methoxy-isobutyl-isonitrile at rest to determine the most optimal electrode positioning zones and 100 patients underwent transthoracic echocardiography at baseline and after 12 months to assess the effectiveness of surgical treatment.

A series of stable iron(II) bis(dicarbollide) derivatives [8,8'-(RNHC(Et)HN)-3,3'-Fe(1,2-CBH)] (R = Pr, R = Ph, (CH)OH, (CH)OH, (CH)NMe) was prepared starting from FeCl or [FeCl(dppe)] and the corresponding -carboranyl amidines [10-RNHC(Et)HN-7,8-CBH]. In a similar way, the reactions of the oxonium derivatives of -carborane with FeCl in tetrahydrofuran in the presence of -BuOK lead to the corresponding stable oxonium derivatives iron(II) bis(dicarbollide) [8,8'-(RR'O)-3,3'-Fe(1,2-CBH)] (RR' = (CH), (CH)O(CH), (CH); R = R' = Et), which can be alternatively prepared by the reaction of the parent iron(II) bis(dicarbollide) with tetrahydrofuran or 1,4-dioxane in the presence of MeSO. The cyclic voltammetry studies of the synthesized iron(II) bis(dicarbollide) derivatives revealed that the introduction of amidinium and oxonium substituents leads to a significant increase in the Fe/Fe redox potential relative to the parent iron(II) bis(dicarbollide).

The marine free-living organism Trichoplax (phylum Placozoa) resembles a unicellular amoeba in shape and type of movement. Trichoplax diverged from the main evolutionary tree in the Neoproterozoic Era. Trichoplax provides one of the simplest models of multicellular animals and a strong example of how cells of an organism interact to form an ensemble during its development and movement.

We report herein an unusual one-pot preparation of α-benzyl-substituted conjugated enals via ZnCl/LiCl/HO-mediated transformation of styrenes. On the basis of experimental and computational studies, an underlying mechanism including electrophilic addition and hydride transfer with iminium cations has been proposed. The effect of the LiCl/ZnCl/HO combination on the reaction yield has been studied, demonstrating their participation in the activation and the key isomerization of an iminium electrophile.

The first evidence of native cyclodextrins fusion was registered using fast scanning calorimetry (FSC) with heating rates up to 40,000 K s. The endothermal effects, detected at low heating rates, correspond to the decomposition processes. Upon the increase of the heating rate the onset of these effects shifts to higher temperatures, reaching a limiting value at high heating rates.

Under virtual labor migration, or telemigration, in the expert community it is customary to understand remote work or the provision of services that are carried out in a cross-border format. The presence of the word in this term logically prompts us to consider the designated process in a migration context. From the standpoint of the concept of migration transition, the spread of virtual migration can be interpreted as a new link in the chain of mobility transformations generated by multifaceted digital transformations.

The recently discovered [4+1]-spirocyclization of nitroalkenes to indoles provided a convenient new approach to 2-(1-indol-2-yl)acetonitriles. However, this reaction was complicated by the formation of inert 3-(2-nitroethyl)-1-indole byproducts. Herein, we offer a workaround this problem that allows for effective transformation of the unwanted byproducts into acetonitrile target molecules.

Background: The pacemaker lead placement is presented as one of the most appropriate procedures in children with a complete atrioventricular block (AVB). Despite the fact that video-assisted thoracic surgery (VATS) for epicardial lead placement has demonstrated positive results as to the feasibility, safety, and efficacy in adults, its role in pacemaker implantation in children remains unclear.

Aim: This study sought to assess the intermediate-term outcomes of video-assisted thoracoscopic pacemaker lead placement in children with complete AVB.

In order to obtain molecular Ce(iii) complexes which emit red light by f-d transitions the azolyl-substituted thiophenolates were used as the ligands. The thiophenolate Ce(iii) complexes were synthesized by the reaction of Ce[N(SiMe)] with respective thiophenols 2-(2'-mercaptophenyl)benzimidazole (H(NSN)), 2-(2'-mercaptophenyl)benzoxazole (H(OSN)) and 2-(2'-mercaptophenyl)benzothiazole (H(SSN)) in DME media. The structures of the benzimidazolate (Ce(NSN)(DME)) and benzothiazolate (Ce(SSN)(DME)) derivatives were determined by X-ray analysis which revealed that the cerium ion in the molecules is coordinated by one DME and three anionic thiophenolate ligands.

The nanostructure of micrometer-sized domains (bits) in phase-change materials (PCM) that undergo switching between amorphous and crystalline phases plays a key role in the performance of optical PCM-based memories. Here, we explore the dynamics of such phase transitions by mapping PCM nanostructures in three dimensions with nanoscale resolution by combining precision Ar ion beam cross-sectional polishing and nanomechanical ultrasonic force microscopy (UFM) mapping. Surface and bulk phase changes of laser written submicrometer to micrometer sized amorphous-to-crystalline (SET) and crystalline-to-amorphous (RESET) bits in chalcogenide Ge2Sb2Te5 PCM are observed with 10-20 nm lateral and 4 nm depth resolution.
