Purpose: We aimed to evaluate the prognostic impact of baseline clinical features and treatment procedure, including liver function measured with albumin-bilirubin (ALBI) formula and dosing methods in HCC patients treated with SIRT.
Material And Methods: The study includes 82 consecutive patients with liver-dominant HCC treated with SIRT (Y glass microspheres, TheraSphereTM) between October 2014 and September 2023. Twenty-five patients were treated with standard dosimetry, while for remaining patients, multi-compartment dosimetry was performed using Simplicit90YTM software.

Mono-pyranopterin-containing sulfite-oxidizing enzymes (SOEs), including eukaryotic sulfite oxidases and homologous prokaryotic sulfite dehydrogenases (SDHs), are molybdenum enzymes that exist in almost all forms of life, where they catalyze the direct oxidation of sulfite into sulfate, playing a key role in protecting cells and organisms against sulfite-induced damage. To decipher their catalytic mechanism, we have previously provided structural and spectroscopic evidence for direct coordination of HPO to the Mo atom at the active site of the SDH from the hyperthermophilic bacterium (SDH), mimicking the proposed sulfate-bound intermediate proposed to be formed during catalysis. In this work, by solving the X-ray crystallographic structure of the unbound enzyme, we resolve the changes in the hydrogen bonding network in the molybdenum environment that enable the stabilization of the previously characterized phosphate adduct.

In patients with either acute or chronic coronary syndromes undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention aspirin is mandatory in a dual antiplatelet therapy regimen for prevention of stent thrombosis and/or new ischaemic events. Methods: In this phase 2, double-blind, randomized, placebo-controlled trial, we assessed the effect of lixisenatide on the progression of motor disability in persons with Parkinson's disease. Participants in whom Parkinson's disease was diagnosed less than 3 years earlier, who were receiving a stable dose of medications to treat symptoms, and who did not have motor complications were randomly assigned in a 1:1 ratio to daily subcutaneous lixisenatide or placebo for 12 months, followed by a 2-month washout period.
Background: Phenotypes of CANVAS are increasingly diversified, including bradykinesia and dysautonomia, so that its primary differential diagnoses are multiple system atrophy-cerebellar type (MSA-c), and spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3). This case series aims to highlight key molecular imaging findings in CANVAS.
